  • Geronimo Allison: Let go by Atlanta

The Falcons waived Allison on Tuesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Allison joined Atlanta this offseason after two disappointing seasons in Detroit, but he finds himself among a wave of cuts ahead of Tuesday's 80-man roster deadline. The 28-year-old caught six touchdowns across four seasons in Green Bay, but he has yet to find any NFL success since.

  • Falcons' Geronimo Allison: Signs with Atlanta

Allison signed with the Falcons on Monday, Aaron Wilson of ProFootballNetwork.com reports. Allison heads to Atlanta coming off of a disappointing tenure with the Lions over the past two seasons. The 6-foot-3 wide receiver did not register a single reception while seeing just two targets over three games this past season after opting out of the 2020 campaign due to COVID concerns. Allison now joins an influx of receiver talent for Atlanta and likely will compete with fellow veterans Damiere Byrd and KhaDarel Hodge for a depth role heading into the 2022 season.

  • Geronimo Allison: Cut from practice squad

The Lions cut Allison from their practice squad Tuesday. Allison landed on the practice squad COVID-19 list in late December and was away from the team for just over a week. He'll now attempt to seek out other opportunities heading into the offseason.

  • Geronimo Allison: Restored to Lions' practice squad

Allison was restored to the Lions' practice squad from the practice squad COVID-19 list Thursday. The wide receiver was placed on the COVID-19 list Dec. 29, remaining away from the team for just over a week. Allison appeared in three games early in the season for the Lions, failing to reel in either of his targets for catches.

  • Geronimo Allison: Lands on COVID list

Allison (undisclosed) was placed on the Lions' practice squad COVID-19 list Wednesday. Allison signed with Detroit's practice squad in mid-November after being waived from the active roster. He'll now be unavailable until he clears the health and safety protocols.

  • Geronimo Allison: Signed to practice squad

Allison re-signed with the Lions' practice squad Thursday. Allison has played in three games with Detroit this season but hasn't brought in either of his two targets. In his four-year stint with the Packers prior to joining the Lions, Allison recorded 1,045 receiving yards across 46 games. The 27-year-old was waived by the Lions on Tuesday after his two weeks of practice-squad eligibility was up, and given the team's generally thin depth at receiver, he's likely to be promoted to the active roster before the end of the season.

  • Geronimo Allison: Waived by Detroit

Allison was waived by the Lions on Tuesday. Allison appeared in just three contests for the Lions this season. He didn't record a catch on two targets while playing 46 total offensive snaps.

  • Lions' Geronimo Allison: Inactive for Week 8

Allison (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's matchup with the Eagles. Allison was active for the Lions last two contests, but he failed to record a catch on just two targets. KhaDarel Hodge will likely continue to operate as Detroit's No. 3 wideout behind Kalif Raymond and Amon-Ra St. Brown.

  • Lions' Geronimo Allison: Gets two targets

Allison was targeted twice but did not record a catch during Sunday's 28-19 loss to the Rams. In his second game of the season, Allison shared the No. 3 role at wide receiver with KhaDarel Hodge while Kalif Raymond and Amon-Ra St. Brown clearly ran as the top dogs. However, it will probably take a lot more for Allison to become a worthwhile fantasy contributor with Jared Goff after he failed to do so with Aaron Rodgers from 2016 to 2019.

  • Lions' Geronimo Allison: Inked to active roster

The Lions signed Allison to the active roster from the practice squad Wednesday. Allison handled 12 offensive snaps (20 percent) and 15 special-teams snaps (60 percent) during Week 6's loss to the Bengals, though he wasn't targeted in the contest. With Quintez Cephus (collarbone) out for the season and Tyrell Williams (concussion) still not back from IR, Allison now looks set to play a similar depth role versus the Rams in Week 7.

  • Geronimo Allison: Back to practice squad

Allison reverted to Detroit's practice squad on Monday, per the NFL's official transaction log. Allison made it onto the field for 13 snaps on offense but wasn't targeted in the contest. He also logged 15 snaps on special teams. Allison's appearance in Week 6 marked his first game action of the 2021 season.

  • Lions' Geronimo Allison: Return to Motown in store

Allison was elevated from the practice squad Saturday. Saturday's designation marks Allison's second stint with the Lions, though he technically never played a game with them after opting out of the 2020 season. With the Lions decimated at wide receiver with both Tyrell Williams (concussion) and Quintez Cephus (collarbone) on injured reserve, Allison already represents the most veteran pass catcher among a depth chart that includes likely starters Amon-Ra St. Brown and Kalif Raymond. It's possible the longtime Packers wide receiver could push KhaDarel Hodge for work as the No. 3 wideout this week against the Bengals.

  • Geronimo Allison: Joins Detroit's practice squad

The Lions signed Allison to their practice squad Wednesday. The Lions top wideout Tyrell Williams was placed in concussion protocol after taking a hard hit in Sunday's loss to the 49ers. Detroit has a group of unproven pass catchers behind Williams, so Allison will offer some insurance if Williams is unable to suit up in Week 2.

  • Geronimo Allison: Released by Detroit

The Lions released Allison on Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. After opting out of the 2020 campaign due to COVID-19 concerns, Allison wasn't guaranteed a spot on the initial 53-man roster this season. It was reported early in training camp that his chances of making the roster relied heavily on his ability to contribute on special teams. Despite his struggles on special teams, Allison could garner interest from teams looking for help at wideout. Before joining Detroit, he racked up 1,045 yards and six touchdowns over four years with Green Bay.

  • Lions' Geronimo Allison: Uncertain to earn roster spot

Allison's chances of making the roster likely will depend on his ability to contribute on special teams, Nick Baumgardner and Chris Burke of the Athletic report. After opting out of the 2020 season due to COVID-19 concerns, Allison is competing with a totally different group of receivers in Detroit compared to the one that was headlined by Kenny Golladay and Marvin Jones last year. However, nothing has changed in the sense that Allison is a long shot to reemerge as a significant fantasy contributor. In fact, with Baumgardner and Burke noting that Victor Bolden and Kalif Raymond could be competing for the Lions' last roster spot at wide receiver, Allison is not guaranteed to even log offensive snaps for Detroit in 2020. However, Allison's saving grace could be on kickoff and punt coverage, which is how Allison fit in on special teams during spring practices.

  • Lions' Geronimo Allison: Won't play in 2020

Allison opted out of the 2020 season, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Allison flashed occasionally in four seasons in Green Bay, but he only surpassed 300 yards in one of them, combined for six touchdowns and had 89 catches in 46 games. He was set to vie with Marvin Hall and rookie Quintez Cephus for slotting near the bottom of the regular-season roster, so Allison's decision likely makes the Lions' own roster decisions easier for the upcoming campaign.

  • Lions' Geronimo Allison: Signs with rival

Allison agreed to terms on a one-year contract with the Lions on Sunday. Allison arrives from Green Bay, where he was used primarily in two- and three-wide sets, sporting a receiving line of 34-287-2 for the 2019 season. The Lions already have proven options such as Kenny Golladay, Marvin Jones (ankle) and Danny Amendola on the roster, so it appears that Allison will be battling Marvin Hall (foot) for the No. 4 receiver spot in Detroit heading into the 2020 season.

  • Packers' Geronimo Allison: Light production in 2019

Allison recorded 34 receptions for 287 yards and two touchdowns over 16 regular-season games in 2019. Allison lined up as the No. 3 wide receiver in the NFC Championship Game and for most of the season, but he and Marquez Valdes-Scantling were passed up for the No. 2 role by undrafted free agent Allen Lazard. It was another unproductive season for Allison, who will be an unrestricted free agent in March, so it wouldn't be surprising if the Packers can bring him back cheap again. With a loaded wide receiver draft in 2020, though, the Packers could let him walk in free agency.

  • Packers' Geronimo Allison: Clear for championship game

Allison (illness) doesn't have a designation for Sunday's NFC Championship Game in San Francisco, Wes Hodkiewicz of the Packers' official site reports. As was the case with his teammates, Allison seems to have got over his bout with the flu in 48 hours, going from a DNP on Wednesday to full participant to close out the week. He hasn't surpassed 30 yards receiving since Week 7 but nonetheless has been targeted 3.3 times per game (including playoffs) this season.

  • Packers' Geronimo Allison: Elevates to 'limited' Thursday

Allison (illness) was limited at Thursday's practice. Allison is the most recent Packer to come down with an illness, sitting out Wednesday before getting in some work one day later. He'll look to ditch the designation entirely by week's end.
