  • Corey Clement: Loses roster spot

Clement was cut from the Cardinals' practice squad Monday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. Clement suited up three times this season for Arizona, only appearing on special teams. According to Pelissero, the purpose of releasing the Wisconsin product at this juncture is to give him a chance to join a playoff team in need of depth at running back.

  • Cardinals' Corey Clement: Promoted Saturday

The Cardinals elevated Clement to their active roster Saturday. Clement has spent the better part of the last two years on Arizona's practice squad, but with Emari Demercado (toe) missing this Sunday's contest, Clement has been added to the team's active roster. The veteran running back has appeared in two games for the Cardinals this season, playing strictly on special teams.

  • Corey Clement: Reverts to practice squad

Clement reverted to Arizona's practice squad Monday. Clement was elevated to the active roster for the second straight week with Keaontay Ingram (neck) out again and logged 13 special-teams snaps. With James Conner (knee) now dealing with an injury as well, Clement could be in line for another elevation Sunday against the Rams, but he's unlikely to see playing time on offense.

  • Cardinals' Corey Clement: Brought up from practice squad

The Cardinals elevated Clement from their practice squad Saturday, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports. Clement will be active on gameday for the second straight week, though he worked exclusively on special teams against San Francisco last Sunday despite the absence of No. 2 back Keaontay Ingram (neck). Ingram is questionable to face Cincinnati this Sunday, but whether or not he is able to go, James Conner figures to get the bulk of the backfield work. With that in mind, Clement isn't a recommend add in fantasy.

  • Corey Clement: Back to practice squad

Clement reverted to the Cardinals' practice squad Monday. Clement was elevated to the active roster prior to Sunday's 35-16 loss to the 49ers, failing to record a stat while playing eight snaps on special teams. The running back will now await his next promotion while continuing to toil on the practice squad.

  • Cardinals' Corey Clement: Elevated to active roster

Clement was elevated to the Cardinals' active roster Saturday, Darren Urban of the team's official site reports. The move corresponds with Keaontay Ingram (neck) being listed as questionable for Sunday's contest against the 49ers. If Ingram is ruled out, Clement could fill a depth backfield role behind James Conner and Emari Demercado.

  • Corey Clement: Rejoins Arizona on practice squad

Clement was picked up by the Cardinals' practice squad Thursday, Howard Balzer of GoPHNX.com reports. Clement was released by Arizona on Tuesday after failing to beat out Keaontay Ingram and Emari Demercado for a depth backfield spot behind James Conner. He finished the preseason strong with 84 yards on 16 touches in the preseason finale against the Vikings on Saturday. He appeared in nine games for the Cardinals last season, rushing for 55 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries while adding five catches for 54 yards.

  • Corey Clement: Back to free agency

The Cardinals are slated to release Clement on Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. Clement failed to beat out Keaontay Ingram and Emari Demercado during the preseason, but he won't be subjected to waivers and can immediately begin testing the waters for a depth opportunity elsewhere. In nine appearances with Arizona last season, Clement turned 15 carries into 55 yards and one touchdown. He also caught five of seven targets for 54 yards.

  • Cardinals' Corey Clement: May be slipping down depth chart

Clement carried the ball 14 times for 79 yards in Saturday's 18-17 preseason win over Minnesota. Clement worked behind both Keaontay Ingram and Emari Demercado for the second consecutive week, suggesting he may be slipping down the Arizona depth chart. Positively, he did run well, tallying long gains of 29 and 10 yards. James Conner is projected to handle a significant amount of the carries out of Arizona's backfield, so regardless of exactly where Clement slots in on the depth chart, he isn't likely to see many snaps with the offensive unit.

  • Cardinals' Corey Clement: Receives three touches Saturday

Clement tallied two carries for three yards and gathered in one of two targets for four yards during Saturday's 38-10 preseason loss to the Chiefs. Clement was the fourth Cardinals running back to enter the game behind top option James Conner, Keaontay Ingram and undrafted rookie Emari Demercado, while Ty'Son Williams didn't see the field at all. Despite the potential demotion, Clement remains behind Conner and Ingram and ahead of Demercado and Williams on the team's third unofficial depth chart of the preseason, per Jose M. Romero of The Arizona Republic. Clement's performance in Saturday's exhibition at Minnesota ultimately may determine whether or not he survives cut downs with a spot on Arizona's roster.

  • Cardinals' Corey Clement: Re-signs with Cardinals

Clement agreed to a one-year contract with the Cardinals on Tuesday, Bob McManaman of the Arizona Republic reports. Now 28 years old, Clement has been bouncing around different rosters and practice squads for the last couple years. He appeared in nine games for the Cardinals last season, making one start, and rushed 15 times for 55 yards and one touchdown. Clement will compete for a depth role this summer.

  • Cardinals' Corey Clement: Produces in spot start

Clement rushed eight times for 23 yards and a touchdown while adding 25 receiving yards on three receptions in Sunday's 38-13 loss to San Francisco. Clement led Arizona's backfield with James Conner (shin/knee) sidelined, producing his first touchdown of the season in the process. The veteran backup spent most of his time on special teams this year, logging just nine offensive touches across eight games prior to Sunday. Clement will become an unrestricted free agent this upcoming offseason.

  • Cardinals' Corey Clement: Should help fill in for Conner

Head coach Kliff Kingsbury said Clement and Keaontay Ingram will be in store for increased roles in Sunday's game against the 49ers with top back James Conner (shin/knee) ruled out for the contest, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports. Before exiting in the fourth quarter of last week's loss to the Falcons, Conner had been handling massive snap shares in each of the Cardinals' previous seven games. His early departure in Week 17 paved the way for Clement -- who has mostly contributed on special teams this season -- to play 29 snaps on offense en route to carrying seven times for 32 yards while going without a reception on his lone target. Ingram, meanwhile, didn't play any snaps on offense, so Clement appears to be the better bet to see the larger share of Conner's vacated workload in the season finale. That said, the Cardinals have some recent draft capital invested in Ingram -- a rookie sixth-round pick -- so it wouldn't be entirely surprising if he was prioritized over the journeyman Clement.

  • Cardinals' Corey Clement: Week 18 Adds (RB Preview)

Clement dominated touches and snaps after James Conner went down in Week 17. Assuming Conner is out, we'd expect Clement to lead the backfield, but it is a terrible matchup.

  • Cardinals' Corey Clement: Week 18 Waiver Priority List

It sounds like James Conner (shin) could play in Week 18 at San Francisco, but Clement is worth adding in case Conner is out. Clement replaced Conner in Week 17 at Atlanta and had seven carries for 32 yards and no catches on one target. It's a brutal matchup against the 49ers, but Clement would be a flex option in deeper leagues if he starts in place of Conner in Week 18.

  • Cardinals' Corey Clement: Contributes reception in loss

Clement recorded a 21-yard reception in Monday's 27-13 loss to the Patriots. Clement has played only three snaps on offense during the Cardinals' past two games, but he's been targeted on two occasions and has two receptions for 29 yards to show for it. The 28-year-old isn't expected to see additional opportunities unless lead back James Conner misses time, or if the Cardinals choose to lighten his workload. Conner handled snap shares north of 95 percent in both Week 13 and Week 14.

  • Cardinals' Corey Clement: Joins Arizona

Clement signed a contract with the Cardinals on Saturday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. Clement played two contests with the Cardinals' active roster at separate intervals this season. The veteran running back has been strictly relegated to special teams at this point in the 2022 campaign.

  • Corey Clement: Sent back to practice squad

Clement reverted to the Cardinals' practice squad Friday. Clement was elevated to the active roster prior to Thursday's victory over New Orleans, but he logged only one offensive snap and 16 on special teams while recording no other stats. If either of James Conner (ribs) or Darrel Williams (knee) is able to return to action next week, Clement may not be elevated again.

  • Cardinals' Corey Clement: Joins active roster Thursday

The Cardinals elevated Clement to their active roster Thursday, Darren Urban of the team's official site reports. With fellow running backs James Conner (ribs) currently listed as questionable and Darrel Williams (knee) ruled out for Thursday's contest versus the Saints, Clement could find himself operating as Arizona's third backfield option in Week 7 behind Eno Benjamin and Keaontay Ingram. The 27-year-old suited up for Sunday's game against the Seahawks but saw just 15 special-teams snaps.

  • Cardinals' Corey Clement: Getting Week 6 call-up

Head coach Kliff Kingsbury said Friday that Clement will be elevated from the practice squad for the Cardinals' Week 6 game in Seattle, Tyler Drake of ArizonaSports.com reports. Arizona may wait until Saturday to make Clement's appointment to the roster official, but he'll be on hand Sunday to provide another healthy body out of the backfield with James Conner (ribs) and Darrel Williams (knee) sitting out Week 6 and with Jonathan Ward (hamstring) having recently been moved to injured reserve. Eno Benjamin is expected to step into Conner's usual role as Arizona's lead back, but Clement could serve as a change-of-pace option behind him in addition to contributing on special teams. Rookie sixth-round pick Keaontay Ingram is also on hand and could also have a role in the game plan behind Benjamin.
