Valdes-Scantling is the only wide receiver on the Chiefs with a 600-yard receiving season. He also had 372 more yards receiving than any other wide receiver returning for Kansas City. Still, in Fantasy Football drafts he remains nothing more than a dart throw in the double-digit rounds and we expect he'll go undrafted in many Fantasy leagues. The reason why is that he's played five years in the NFL with Aaron Rodgers and Patrick Mahomes and never topped 45 receiving yards per game or averaged more than five targets per game. Still, with so little competition around him, we'd understand if you want to risk a pick in the double-digit rounds on the long shot that he's Mahomes' WR1.

After logging the most or second-most snaps among Chiefs receivers in the first three games, Valdes-Scantling fell to third in that count (34) Sunday evening behind Justin Watson (43) and Skyy Moore (41). MVS has just six catches for 104 yards through the first four games, and there's little to suggest things are trending in a positive direction for the veteran deep threat, especially with rookie Rashee Rice nipping at his heels for playing time and Justin Watson surpassing him in snaps. Given the Valdes-Scantling has just nine targets to his name through four games, he's far from a worthwhile fantasy option in most formats.

Valdes-Scantling had his best outing as a Chief in terms of receiving yards, which was powered by two of the three longest plays of the game for the team, a 40-yard grab in the second quarter and a 57-yarder in the final period.
