Davis (ankle) reached an injury settlement with the Rams on Tuesday, Lindsey Thiry of ESPN.com reports.
Davis would have spent the entire season on the Rams' injured reserve had both parties not reached an injury settlement. He will now be free to find a new landing spot once his health is up to par.

Davis signed with the Rams just before training camp after playing all 16 games with the Bills last season. He was hoping to earn a role in the defensive line rotation, but his ankle injury will force him to watch the 2018 season from the sidelines.

Davis signed with the Rams on Tuesday, Mike Kaye of FirstCoastNews.com reports.
Davis was most recently let go by the Bills back in March after playing in all 16 regular-season games for the team last year. The Rams currently have plenty of depth on the defensive line, so even if Davis were to make the final roster, he'd likely be no more than a backup option.

Davis was released by the Bills on Friday, Sal Capaccio of WGR Sports Radio 550 reports.
Davis played in all 16 games for the Bills in 2017, registering 26 tackles, including three sacks. Despite being reasonably productive with limited snaps, he was little more than a backup for the team and was slated to maintain that role in 2018. Now a free agent, he'll look to catch on elsewhere, although he'll likely be hard-pressed to find a starting opportunity.

We don't think Davis will see a full log of plays like a normal starter would, as Lorenzo Alexander can be used to rush the passer on downs he'd normally sit. Still, it's a nice development for the journeyman Davis, who's now with his third NFL team.
