  • Giants' David Long: Finds new home

Long signed a contract with the Giants on Wednesday, Dan Salomone of the team's official site reports. Long struggled to find a home in 2023. After four years with the Rams, the 2019 third-round selection spent time with the Packers, Panthers and Raiders, appearing in a total of 14 games. He'll now work to make the most of his fresh opportunity in the Big Apple.

  • Packers' Kingsley Enagbare: Injury severity downplayed

Enagbare (knee) did not sustain a "complete tear" of his ACL in Green Bay's wild-card victory over Dallas, according to Ryan Wood of USA Today. It had been assumed up to this point that Enagbare was working back from a severe injury that -- based on the timing -- could have cost him the entire 2024 season, but GM Brian Gutenkust revealed that he has not undergone surgery and may not need to, so he could be ready to return sooner than anticipated.

  • Packers' Kalen King: Falls to Green Bay in Round 7

The Packers selected King in the seventh round of the 2024 NFL Draft, 255th overall. King, out of Penn State, entered this season with some buzz as a much earlier pick after leading the Big Ten in pass breakups as a true sophomore with 21. His pass breakup count dropped to just two in 12 games in 2023, and he had no interceptions. His combine performance further hurt his stock, as he ran a 4.61 at 5-foot-11, 191 pounds. The Packers can dream on recapturing King's 2022 form because production like that is uncommon. They will also have to hope they are not getting the player they saw in 2023.

  • Packers' Kitan Oladapo: Yet another secondary piece for GB

The Packers selected Oladapo in the fifth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, 169th overall. Oladapo becomes the third safety selected by the Packers in the past three rounds. While the starting safety role opposite the newly signed Xavier McKinney projected as an obvious need for Green Bay, the team does have intriguing 2023 seventh-round pick Anthony Johnson also in the fold, so this level of aggressiveness is noteworthy, especially with name-value free agents still out on the market. A three-year starter at Oregon State, the 6-foot-2, 221 pound Oladapo projects more as a thumping safety at the NFL level and will add value in special teams almost immediately.

  • Packers' Edgerrin Cooper: Going up north to Green Bay

The Packers selected Cooper in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft, 45th overall. It's a light class at inside linebacker, but with De'Vondre Campbell's departure this offseason, it was a need for Green Bay. Cooper is arguably the top-rated player from this linebacker group. The linebacker position is getting smaller and faster league-wide, and Cooper fits that mold at 6-foot-2 and just 230 pounds while compensating for his frame with 4.51 speed. He led the SEC in tackles for loss in 2023 (17.0) and showed some pass-rush chops with 8.0 sacks at Texas A&M. He will need to get by on his athleticism and likely add some bulk in order to reliably hold up against the run at the next level, but there are traits here that can make him a fixture in the Green Bay linebacking corps.

  • Falcons' Kevin King: Signs on with Atlanta

King signed with the Falcons on Monday, Terrin Waack of the team's official site reports. King sat out the 2022 season for personal reasons and then missed 2023 due to a torn Achilles that he sustained during an offseason workout. The 2017 second-rounder will look to secure a role in the Falcons' secondary after recording 29 tackles and a pick in 10 regular-season outings (six of which were starts) for the Packers in 2021.

  • Packers' Eric Wilson: Staying in Green Bay

The Packers re-signed Wilson on Friday, Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. The veteran linebacker spent each of the last two seasons with the Packers, and he'll remain in Green Bay for the immediate future after re-signing with the team Friday. Wilson has seen limited work on defense during his time in Green Bay, but he's been an integral part of the Packers' special-teams unit. Over the last two years, Wilson has logged more special-teams snaps (308) and tackles (25) than any other Packer. Expect the 30-year-old to continue serving as an essential part of the team's special-teams unit in 2024.

  • Packers' Robert Rochell: Will return to Lambeau

Rochell re-signed with the Packers on Tuesday. Rochell saw the field in nine regular-season games for the Packers last year, plus both postseason contests. He was primarily a special teams contributor, and his only defensive snaps (four) came in a wild-card win over the Cowboys. The 2021 fourth-round pick will attempt to earn a bigger role in the secondary in 2024.

  • 49ers' De'Vondre Campbell: Signing with San Francisco

The 49ers signed Campbell to a one-year deal Friday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. The eight-year veteran is signing with the 49ers after spending the last three seasons of his career in Green Bay. Campbell struggled with injuries last year, appearing in just 11 games, but he still recorded 75 total tackles and defended one pass. The 30-year-old could very well have the opportunity to compete for a starting job in the 49ers' linebacker corps this offseason, especially with Dre Greenlaw recovering from the Achilles injury he suffered in the Super Bowl loss to the Chiefs.

He remained extremely effective on kickoff returns, averaging an NFL-best 26.1 yards per return while leading the league in total kickoff returns (30) and yards (782). On defense, Nixon racked up 80 tackles (59 solo), one interception and 0.5 sacks.

Savage is slated to ink a three-year contract with Jacksonville, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Savage, a 2019 first-round pick, is fresh off completing his rookie deal with the Packers and will provide an immediate boost at safety for the Jaguars. After an impressive first two seasons in the league, Savage struggled from 2021-23, and missed assignments resulted in him even losing his starting job for part of the 2022 campaign. He will look to reignite his career under new defensive coordinator Ryan Nielsen in Jacksonville.

  • De'Vondre Campbell: Done in Green Bay

Campbell is slated to be released by the Packers when the new league year opens Wednesday, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports. Campbell's exit comes as the veteran linebacker completed his third season with the team. The 30-year-old played in 11 regular-season games in 2023, while missing time with a neck injury and compiling 73 combined tackles. His departure was considered a cap-saving move for Green Bay, although it's not yet clear how much money the team will save.

The 2023 fourth-rounder filled a complementary role as a rookie, but he did see defensive snaps in every game including the Packers' two playoff contests. • Packers' Corey Ballentine: Busy in 2023

Ballentine registered a career-high 43 tackles (28 solo), an interception and seven passes defended over 14 games in the 2023 regular season. Ballentine played all of 17 defensive snaps over the previous three seasons combined, but he played a career-high 463 for the Packers in 2023 and even made six starts due to injuries in the secondary, although he played only three defensive snaps in the divisional round against the 49ers. He will be a free agent this offseason and will look to catch on somewhere in a depth role.

  • Packers' Carrington Valentine: Earns starting role as rookie

Valentine tallied 44 tackles (33 solo), nine passes defended and a fumble recovery over 17 games in the 2023 regular season. The Packers saw enough from the seventh-rounder to give him a starting spot midway through his rookie season, and he held his own in the secondary. Green Bay will almost certainly be adding players this offseason at the cornerback position, so it remains to be seen what role Valentine will fill in his second campaign.
