Terrence Magee: Misses cut for 53-man roster
Magee was waived by the Falcons on Saturday, Will McFadden of the team's' official site reports.
The former LSU standout only handled three carries through Week 3 of the preseason, but broke out with 27 yards on six attempts in the finale against Miami. Entering his fourth pro season, Magee will pursue a backup role with another team should he fail to clinch a spot on Atlanta's practice squad for 2018.

Magee was waived by Atlanta on Tuesday, D. Orlando Ledbetter of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Magee has bounced around the league during his first three seasons as a pro, spending time with the Ravens, Rams, Seahawks, Browns and Falcons after going undrafted out of LSU. Magee served as a change-of-pace back in his collegiate career, handling 226 carries over four seasons with the Tigers, but he has recorded only five carries in seven regular-season appearances since entering the NFL. The 5-foot-9 running back will seek to find a new home for the 2018 season at a decisive juncture of his career.

Falcons' Terrence Magee: Re-signs with Falcons

Magee played a depth role in two games earlier this season as Devonta Freeman battled a concussion, but he was released when Freeman completed the league's protocol. Freeman is currently nursing a knee injury ahead of Saturday's playoff game, but Magee will likely still only play on special teams either way.

The Falcons brought Magee in to add running back depth while Devonta Freeman worked his way back from a concussion. Now that Freeman is healthy, Magee's services are no longer required. The Falcons signed defensive back Leon McFadden in a corresponding move.

Magee was signed by the Falcons off the Browns' practice squad on Tuesday, Vaughn McClure of ESPN.com reports.
The Falcons had an open spot on their 53-man roster, and with Devonta Freeman (concussion) likely out for the team's upcoming matchup against the Seahawks, they opted to scoop up Magee. Carries figure to be hard to come by for the 24-year-old, as he will still be the third running back on the depth chart even if Freeman sits out. However, he likely will provide help on special teams to go along with running back depth.

Browns' Terrence Magee: Gains 14 yards Saturday
Magee rushed five times for 14 yards during Saturday's preseason game against the Buccaneers. He also caught two passes (five targets) for 14 yards.
Magee once again failed in comparison to teammate Matthew Dayes, as he averaged just 2.8 yards per attempt against the Buccaneers. Dayes clearly has the upper hand for the third running back spot, so Magee will most likely have to put up a big performance in the team's fourth preseason game in order to make the roster.

Magee carried the ball four times for 15 yards and hauled in two passes (three targets) for two yards during Monday's preseason contest with the Giants.
Magee duplicated his serviceable rushing stats from the first preseason game, but the 5-foot-9 back out of LSU may find himself on the outside looking in with the team's third-string running back competition. Matthew Dayes -- who is also vying for the job -- showed his value in the passing game Monday with five catches, earning praise from coach Hue Jackson. Meanwhile, Magee's two receptions went for a lowly two yards. The 24-year-old will likely see more touches in the next two contests and still has a reasonable chance to make the roster.

Browns' Terrence Magee: Finds end zone in preseason opener
Magee carried four times for 15 yards and a touchdown in Thursday's 20-14 preseason win over the Saints.
Magee received the most carries behind starter Isaiah Crowell in this one, plunging into the end zone from a yard out early in the fourth quarter. Rookie Matthew Dayes tallied nine yards and a touchdown of his own on three carries, and is likely Magee's chief competition for the third spot on the running back depth chart behind Crowell and Duke Johnson.

Magee is shorter in stature at just 5-foot-9, but he weighs a whole 220 pounds. Through two years in the league, the LSU product has carried the ball just five times for 17 yards with the Ravens and Seahawks. His signing was made possible by the release of Darius Jackson, though Magee isn't expected to play much of a role in the Browns' offense if he makes the final roster.

Magee was released by the Seahawks on Tuesday, Curtis Crabtree of Sports Radio KJR reports.
Magee was one of 11 running backs on the Seahawks' roster to begin the day but now heads into the market along with fellow back George Farmer as part of an eight-player release by the team. Magee, who signed his exclusive rights tender almost a month ago, joined the team in late December and made two appearances at the end of the 2016 season. Just 24, the back will look to sign on to another roster during training camp in the hopes of locking down a spot on the 53-man roster.
