Cardinals' Jeff Driskel: Heading to Arizona
Driskel has agreed to a one-year deal with the Cardinals, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
The Cardinals will mark Driskel's fifth team in six years since entering the league in 2018. He saw his heaviest workload in Cincinnati during his rookie campaign, when he recorded 1,003 passing yards, six touchdowns and two interceptions across nine games. The journeyman suited up seven times this past season in Houston, and he was part of a quarterback share with Davis Mills over the final five games. Starting quarterback Kyler Murray (knee) tore his ACL on Dec. 12 this past year and remains without an estimated return date. Thus, Driskel could compete with Colt McCoy (undisclosed) and David Blough for a potential starting role under center when the season kicks off.

Texans' Jeff Driskel: Decreased usage in finale
Driskel completed two of two passes for 13 yards and had three carries for seven yards in a 32-31 win over the Colts in Week 18.
Driskel, who was part of a quarterback share with Davis Mills over the final five games, had his fewest amount of snaps (six) in the season finale. The gimmick worked as a surprise factor the first week but was less effective in the following weeks. He heads to free agency after completing 14 of 20 passes for 108 yards and a touchdown. Driskel also ran the ball 20 times for 75 yards. The Texans used him in the backfield and at tight end during his two seasons in Houston, and that position versatility could be attractive.

Texans' Jeff Driskel: Still part of game plan
Driskel completed three of four passes for nine yards and ran twice for seven yards in Sunday's 31-3 loss to the Jaguars.
Offensive coordinator Pep Hamilton continued to work a two-quarterback system with Driskel and Davis Mills, which yielded good results in Week 14 when the Texans nearly upset the Cowboys, but the surprise factor has waned in successive weeks. As Jacksonville built a 28-0 lead, Houston averaged 2.1 yards per play with Driskel under center compared to 4.9 yards with Mills, per Brooks Kubena of the Houston Chronicle. Neither Driskel nor Mills were effective, and it appears the organization will be looking for a quarterback in the 2023 NFL Draft.

Texans' Jeff Driskel: Still in mix at QB
Driskel completed three of four passes for 40 yards, gained two yards on two carries and caught his lone target for four yards in Saturday's 19-14 win over the Titans.
Driskel was once again in the mix at quarterback, sharing snaps with Davis Mills. Offensive coordinator Pep Hamilton ditched the even split between the two that was deployed two weeks ago against Dallas, but Driskel continues to spot in at times to keep defenses guessing.

Texans' Jeff Driskel: Cedes most work to Mills
Driskel completed two of four passes for eight yards and rushed four times for eight yards in the Texans' 30-24 overtime loss to the Chiefs on Sunday.
Driskel once again worked in conjunction with Davis Mills at quarterback, but the latter put up 24 pass attempts to Driskel's four. The versatile signal-caller appears likely to continue to cede the majority of passing work to Mills in a Week 16 road battle versus the Titans on Saturday afternoon.

Texans' Jeff Driskel: Signed to active roster
The Texans signed Driskel to their 53-man roster Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of ProFootballNetwork.com reports.
Houston had already exhausted its three elevations for Driskel from the practice squad, so the team needed to give him a permanent roster spot in order for him to be eligible to play again this season. Though he served as the backup to Davis Mills in the team Week 14 loss to the Cowboys, Driskel ended up splitting work with the starter. Driskel was on the field for 33 snaps and was primarily used as a rushing threat, recording seven carries for 36 yards while completing four of six pass attempts for 48 yards and a touchdown. According to Wilson, the Texans are expected to maintain a two-quarterback system Week 15 against the Chiefs, so Driskel may have some value in deeper leagues that start two signal-callers or have a superflex spot.

Texans' Jeff Driskel: Shifts back to practice squad
Driskel reverted to Houston's practice squad Monday.
Driskel was elevated from the practice squad for the third time this season Week 14. After being used sparingly as a third-down rusher in his first two appearances of the season, the 29-year-old played the exact same number of snaps (33) as starting quarterback Davis Mills, with Kyle Allen in street clothes as a healthy scratch. Driskel was deployed as a rushing threat, taking seven carries for 36 yards while also going 4-for-6 passing for 38 yards and a touchdown in a 27-23 loss to the Cowboys. With Driskel no longer eligible for a practice squad elevation this season, he'll require a permanent spot on the active roster to continue suiting up for Houston. According to Brooks Kubena of the Houston Chronicle, head coach Lovie Smith said that he's currently unsure if the team will carry three quarterbacks, though he noted that the team can't let its roster restrictions "stop us from fielding our best 48 players this week." Therefore, it's possible Driskel could play a similar role if Allen is again inactive in Week 15 against Kansas City.
