  • Saints' Tyrann Mathieu: Picks off two passes Sunday

Mathieu notched four tackles (three solo) and two interceptions in Sunday's 24-15 loss to the Falcons.

Mathieu halted a Falcons drive deep into New Orleans territory by picking off Desmond Ridder at the Saints' one-yard line late in the second quarter. The veteran struck again in the third period, picking off Ridder on a deep pass intended for Van Jefferson. The interceptions were Mathieu's second and third of the campaign, giving him at least three pickoffs in five straight seasons.

  • Saints' Tyrann Mathieu: Suits up for Week 8

Mathieu (foot) is active for Sunday's game against the Colts, John Hendrix of SI.com reports.

In a sign of good news for the Saints' secondary, Mathieu and starting strong safety Marcus Maye (illness, hamstring) will both play Sunday. Mathieu has played in all seven contests so far this season and has amassed 26 tackles (16 solo) and an interception returned for a touchdown.

  • Saints' Tyrann Mathieu: Questionable to suit up Week 8

The Saints have ruled Mathieu (foot) questionable to play Sunday versus the Colts.

Mathieu began Week 8 prep with a pair of limited practices, but his outlook was improved by his ability to log a full practice session Friday. The safety was also listed as questionable for last Thursday's loss to Jacksonville, but he played in that game and logged 98 percent of the team's defensive snaps. Mathieu hasn't missed a regular-season contest since the opening game of Kansas City's 2021 slate, and he appears to have a good chance of extending his streak to 41 straight matchups this coming Sunday.

  • Saints' Tyrann Mathieu: Still limited at practice Wednesday

Mathieu (foot) was a limited participant at practice Wednesday.

Mathieu played through his foot injury in Week 7, so New Orleans is likely just giving him some extra rest to start the week. If he can practice in full Thursday or Friday, he would probably go into the weekend without an injury designation.

  • Saints' Tyrann Mathieu: Questionable versus Jacksonville

Mathieu is questionable for Thursday's game against the Jaguars with a foot injury.

Mathieu was a limited participant in practice all week and is now officially listed as questionable for Thursday's game. With Lonnie Johnson (hamstring) also dealing with an injury, the Saints could find themselves thin at safety if either Mathieu or Johnson doesn't play.

  • Saints' Tyrann Mathieu: Limited on Monday practice estimate

Mathieu (foot) was marked as a limited participant in the Saints' practice estimate Monday, John Hendrix of SI.com reports.

Mathieu played 60 defensive snaps in Sunday's loss at the Texans, so the estimate could simply be the result of load management. It will be worth keeping an eye on New Orleans' injury reports Tuesday and Wednesday anyhow to get a better grasp of Mathieu's potential availability.
