For the most part, Adam Jones behaved himself last year in Cincinnati.

He missed the first six games of the Bengals season with a neck injury, but when he returned to the lineup, he played relatively well. Especially for a guy who had played only five games the previous two years because of injuries.

He’s not the player he once was when he starred for the Titans, but he’s still solid enough to find a spot in the league, as evidenced by the Bengals decision to sign him to a new deal.

According to the Cincinnati Enquirer, the move isn’t a surprise, considering Jones has been in town recently, working out with his teammates in the Cincinnati suburbs. After he had to replace the injured Leon Hall last year, Pro Football Focus points out that Jones allowed only 16 receptions in eight games.

Of course, as usual, Jones could be facing a league suspension after pleading guilty to January for a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct. That element of Jones' personality never seems far away -- which has been a problem throughout his career.
