During the Dolphins-Colts matchup a few weeks ago, referee Tony Corrente inadvertently left his microphone on and dropped a GD bomb at a fellow referee.

It drew plenty of criticism as it was captured on the Internet forever. And because swear words on national television are typically a pretty big no-no, Corrente was also fined a single game check, the NFL announced Friday.

Carl Johnson of the NFL said that such conduct "is inappropriate for a game official."

Corrente also had to apologize to the Colts for his language and, presumably, will learn to keep his hand on the microphone button in the near future.

On the bright side, at least he didn't do anything as ridiculous as cost the Packers a win and perhaps a playoff berth, right?
