Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford did not participate in the portion of practice open to media Wednesday. He appeared to have some type of wrap on his upper right leg, but he wasn’t limping or exhibiting any other injury symptoms.

Stafford injured the leg in practices leading up to Detroit’s Week 3 loss to the Titans and was forced to leave the game late in regulation. Shaun Hill replaced Stafford for the final two minutes of regulation, bringing the Lions back from a 14 point deficit to force overtime.

Hill took first-team reps Wednesday, and rookie Kellen Moore worked with the reserve offense in skeleton drills. If Stafford isn’t available Sunday against the Vikings, Moore could be on the active gameday roster for the first time.

WR Calvin Johnson took part in individual drills Wednesday. Johnson’s participation is noteworthy because he missed Detroit’s last two Wednesday workouts due to minor injuries.

DE Kyle Vanden Bosch also participated in the open portion of practice. He missed most of training camp with a knee injury, and has been practicing on Wednesday during the regular season in an effort to restore his full fitness level. Vanden Bosch missed most Wednesday workouts last season, and coach Jim Schwartz said he will eventually be given a reduced practice workload.

TE Tony Scheffler, who missed Sunday’s loss to Tennessee with a calf injury, was ran during open portions of practice, but he did not participate in position drills.

WR Titus Young, Sr. (undisclosed), LB Travis Lewis (quad), S Louis Delmas (knee), and DT Corey Williams (knee) also missed Wednesday’s open portion of practice.
