Nobody was talking about the Philadelphia Eagles C Dallas Reynolds and that’s a good thing.

That means Reynolds didn’t do anything to call attention to himself, which is almost always a bad thing for an offensive lineman.

“I’m proud of Dallas,’’ Eagles offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg said about the player who was thrust into the starting lineup when Jason Kelce was lost for the season with a knee injury.

Reynolds has now started two games for the Eagles and he hasn’t made any major mistakes. He hasn’t missed a block or blown a call that lost a game or got Michael Vick injured. He might not get any Pro Bowl votes, but it appears he will keep his job.

Reynolds had never been on the active roster before this season, much less in the starting lineup.

“When you look at the film I see a lot of good things,’’ Reynolds said. “I know you guys have heard this before, but I’ve seen some good things that I’ve done well and things I need to get better at. That’s what I am focusing on and trying to get better every week.”

Mornhinweg, who is never hesitant about praising his players, was more specific.

“You go way back,’’ he said, “and he’s really put in the hard work and preparation and hours and hours and hours, evolving into a fine football player in the NFL. So, a great credit to him. He’s a very bright guy. He’s a natural football player. He’s added strength and size and he’s handled this thing really well.”
