It looks like the Cowboys are once again America's Team, and if you need proof of that, just look at the Pro Bowl voting.
After roughly six weeks of voting, the Cowboys have been the clear winners on America's ballot with Ezekiel Elliott and Dak Prescott ranking as the top two vote-getters in the NFL.
Just to be clear, they're not the top two rookies or the top two players in the NFC, they're the top two vote-getters in the entire NFL. Elliott currently holds the overall lead with 681,361 Pro Bowl votes. Prescott is right behind him: The Cowboys quarterback has earned 607,621 votes since voting began in October.
That total puts both Elliott and Prescott well ahead of No. 3 vote-getter Tom Brady, who has garnered 519,210 votes.
Pro Bowl balloting runs through Dec. 13.
Fans won't have the only say in who makes the Pro Bowl. Players and coaches will also get a vote with each group's vote counting as one-third of the total. After the votes have been tallied, the league will announce the 88 Pro Bowl players on an NFL Network special that's set to air on Dec. 20.
There won't be a Pro Bowl draft this year because the league is returning to the regular AFC-NFC format.
As for the Cowboys, Elliott and Prescott aren't the only players in Dallas who are doing well in Pro Bowl voting. Five other Cowboys players are currently leading the Pro Bowl vote at their position: Tyron Smith, Travis Frederick, Dan Bailey, Chris Jones and Sean Lee have each received more votes than any other NFC player at their position.
Although Pro Bowls are nice, Cowboys fans would probably prefer that no Cowboys players are playing in the game. If that happens, it will be because the Cowboys are getting set to play in Super Bowl LI in Houston.
This year's Pro Bowl will be played Jan. 29 in Orlando, Florida.
