Few surprises were expected before the Browns made their final cuts. And few were presented.

But there were two, and they both centered on the secondary. CB Johnson Bademosi and S Tashaun Gipson made the cut. Three of the Browns' 15 rookies are in the secondary, with impressive CB Trevin Wade also sticking. Both coach Pat Shurmur and GM Tom Heckert were blunt in stating that Bademosi made the team because of his special-teams skills. The special teams have been brutal in recent weeks.

One minor surprise was that OT Oniel Cousins is still around. Coach Pat Shurmur must not have been impressed with the young competition because Cousins missed much of the preseason with injuries and played terribly when given the opportunity. The Browns did bring back several young linemen on their practice squad.
