Mario Williams is looking forward to seeing Robert Griffin III again on Thursday when the Bills kick off the preseason against the Washington Redskins. The two have the same agent, Ben Dogra, and briefly got to know each other this summer.

Their next meeting may not be as cordial, however.

“We’ve talked before a little bit this summer -- I kind of told him I was coming for him, so he knows,” Williams said with a laugh. “It’s all fun, it’s the preseason. It’s actually better for him to get hit earlier than later, so it’s not a shock.”

Williams is also looking forward to making his way through the tunnel at Ralph Wilson Stadium for the first time in a game, even if it’s just a preseason game.

“I think this may be a lot more exciting as far as being the first time to go out there and being on the field and just seeing that environment at home and seeing the fans’ reaction,” Williams said. “It’s almost like me being a rookie all over again, and I’ve kind of got to make sure I don’t get too excited.”

Bills prep with light workout: The Bills had their lightest camp practice to date on Tuesday, and coach Chan Gailey wasn’t exactly thrilled with the tempo. “Mentally, we were sort of into it,” Gailey said. “I didn’t think ... it’s the first time in quite a while that we have not been in pads, and I thought guys thought it was a glorified walk-through. We’ve got to make sure we learn how to practice without pads on. We’ve got to up the tempo a little bit.”

What stood out: Their weren’t many standout plays Tuesday given the nature of practice. Stevie Johnson beat Aaron Williams early in practice for a TD on a fade pattern, but Williams came back a short time later with an INT on an underthrown ball against the same route. ... WR Derek Hagan and CB Stephon Gilmore had a scuffle after a run play in team work. ... WR Ruvell Martin had a few nice catches among the reserves. ... LB Bryan Scott looked quick against the run and as a blitzer. ... SS Da’Norris Searcy had an impressive interception.

What’s next: The Bills have their first preseason game Thursday at 7 p.m. ET at Ralph Wilson Stadium.
