Keep on an eye on these three players, who will be instrumental if the Vikings are to beat the Titans at the Metrodome on Sunday.

1. QB Christian Ponder: Ponder has been praised for his game management in the Vikings surprising 3-1 start. He has taken what the defense has given him and limited his turnovers to just one fumble. Look for Ponder to open up the offense and stretch the defense with shots downfield to WR Jerome Simpson. The Titans defense has allowed more than 300 yards and seven touchdowns against tight ends, so Ponder could find success throwing to TEs Kyle Rudolph and John Carlson.

2. RB Adrian Peterson: The star running back gets stronger every game and hit the 100-yard rushing mark last week in Detroit. Peterson, who wore down a tough 49ers defense in Week 3,  said he finally felt the rust coming off after his long knee surgery rehab. Peterson should find room to roam against the 26th-ranking rushing defense that gives up an average 136.5 yards per game. Peterson keeps reminding the Vikings faithful of the “old AP." Look for him to rekindle memories of a “younger AP” on Sunday against Tennessee.

3. LB Erin Henderson: Henderson returns to the starting lineup after being out more than two weeks with a concussion. His return is fortuitous as his replacement, LB Marvin Mitchell, is likely out with a calf injury. But Henderson’s absence raises some concern about how quickly he can return to form. MLB Jasper Brinkley will replace Henderson in the nickel role until he can get back up to speed, but Henderson will have his work cut out for him corralling speedy Titans running back Chris Johnson. Tyrone McKenzie and Audie Cole will likely spell Henderson at times.
