Monty Williams has agreed to become the top assistant on the staff of new Thunder coach Billy Donovan, according to a report by Yahoo, citing league sources.

Williams is the former coach of New Orleans, who was fired after the Pelicans were eliminated from the playoffs. Williams won 45 games this year and was 173-221 in five seasons.

He'll provide an experienced assistant for former Florida Gators coach Billy Donovan, who will be transitioning to the NBA from college.

Donovan will keep Thunder assistants Mark Bryant and Darko Rajakovic. Another assistant spot is likely to be filled by former Alabama coach Anthony Grant.
