<img alt= starter Jeff Niemann will miss at least 4-6 weeks after being struck by an Adam Lind comebacker in the first inning of Monday's game in Toronto, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Niemann was checked out after Lind's grounder hit him, but stayed in the game. He got another hitter for the final out of the inning. The right-hander came out for the second inning, but manager Joe Maddon came out during his warmup pitches to take him out of the game. He allowed a hit and a walk in the scoreless inning before lefty Cesar Ramos took over.

Niemann, 29, is 3-2 with a 3.38 ERA. Last Wednesday he held the Yankees to just one run in seven innings in a no-decision at Yankee Stadium.

The Rays could move Wade Davis back from the bullpen to the rotation or call up either Alex Cobb or Chris Archer from Triple-A Durham.
