By his own admission, Rays infielder Ben Zobrist hasn't been providing much power lately. So it was certainly unlikely to see him hit a pair of home runs Tuesday while combining with Mariners infielder Brad Miller for a historic milestone.

Zobrist and Miller both led off the game with leadoff home runs, and they each added another shot later in the game, becoming the first pair of leadoff hitters to homer in the same game since 1994. This was also just the second time since 1916 this has happened.

"I haven't been hitting a lot of home runs lately, so it was kind of interesting to see two leadoff guys do that," Zobrist told MLB.com.

Zobrist drove in three runs with his two homers, while finishing the game 2 for 5 with two runs scored, in a 5-4 loss. Zobrist has nine home runs on the season, and he had not gone deep since July 19.
