Tigers' Javier Baez: Resting for series finale
Baez is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Pirates.
After starting in the last four games and going 0-for-14 with two strikeouts, Baez will head to the bench as the Tigers close out their series in Pittsburgh with a matinee game. Kevin McGonigle will slide over from third base to spell Baez at shortstop.

Cody Bellinger LF | NYY
Yankees' Cody Bellinger: Could return as soon as Sunday
Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Wednesday on the "Talkin' Yanks" podcast by Jomboy Media that Bellinger (hamstring) could be activated from the 10-day injured list as soon as Sunday.
Bellinger will kick off a rehab assignment with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Thursday and will play at least two rehab games before the Yankees determine whether he's ready to return to the active roster. The 31-year-old has been sidelined since late July with a strained left hamstring.

Luis Robert CF | NYM
Mets' Luis Robert: Exiting starting lineup
Robert is not in the lineup for Wednesday's contest versus the Padres.
Robert had made three straight starts and homered in Tuesday's loss to the Padres, but he will get a breather during Wednesday's afternoon tilt. A.J. Ewing will slide over to center field and Brett Baty will patrol left field for the Mets.

Jack Weisenburger RP | NYM
Mets' Jack Weisenburger: Optioned back to minors
The Mets optioned Weisenburger to Triple-A Syracuse on Wednesday.
Though he allowed one run over 1.1 innings in Tuesday's loss to the Padres, Weisenburger's first big-league stint went well, as he logged a 2.08 ERA and 4:2 K:BB over 4.1 frames. Chayce McDermott will grab Weisenburger's spot on the active roster.

Jorge Polanco DH | NYM
Mets' Jorge Polanco: Back to IL with ankle bursitis
The Mets placed Polanco on the 10-day injured list with left ankle bursitis.
Polanco has dealt with a left ankle/Achilles issue throughout the season and it's become clear the nagging injury has greatly affected him, leading to a lowly .148/.201/.230 batting line with two home runs over 37 contests. The Mets didn't reveal a timetable for Polanco's return, but it wouldn't be a surprise if the infielder shuts things down for the season.

Bryson Stott 2B | PHI
Phillies' Bryson Stott: Productive in Tuesday's win
Stott went 1-for-3 with a walk, two runs scored and two RBI in Tuesday's 6-4 win over the Marlins.
The move to third base following the acquisition of Luis Arraez at the trade deadline hasn't derailed Stott's momentum at the plate. He's hit safely in 10 straight games, and over 30 contests since the All-Star break the 28-year-old is slashing .320/.447/.500 with 12 extra-base hits (eight doubles, two triples, two homers), six steals in six attempts, 17 RBI and 19 runs.

Luis Arraez 2B | PHI
Phillies' Luis Arraez: Three hits in Tuesday's win
Arraez went 3-for-4 with a run scored in Tuesday's 6-4 win over the Marlins.
All three hits were singles, which is par for the course for Arraez, but the three-time MLB batting champ continues to get comfortable with his new team. The 29-year-old infielder has hit safely in six straight games, going 10-for-26 (.385) with two doubles, three runs and four RBI.

Jonah Cox CF | SF
Giants' Jonah Cox: Multi-hit effort in loss
Cox went 2-for-4 in Tuesday's 8-1 loss to Cleveland.
Cox hit a leadoff single in the first inning and added another base hit in the third. He's now logged two multi-hit performances this season, with his last coming June 5. The 25-year-old outfielder is slashing .286/.286/.514 with six runs scored, four stolen bases, three RBI and a home run across 38 plate appearances this season.
