Koenig signed a minor-league contract Tuesday with the Padres.
Koenig was non-tendered by the Athletics back in November after posting an ugly 5.72 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 22:15 K:BB over his first 39.1 major-league innings last season. The 29-year-old southpaw will function as organizational pitching depth for San Diego in 2023.
