Poppen was recalled from Triple-A Reno on Wednesday.
Poppen made 26 relief appearances for the Diamondbacks earlier in the season and posted a 3.91 ERA and 1.38 WHIP in 25.1 innings. He's been in the minors since July 10 but will rejoin Arizona's bullpen after Luis Frias was sent down Wednesday. Poppen has picked up three holds in the majors this year but will likely serve mainly as a middle reliever over the final week of the regular season.
