Athletics' Brent Rooker: Heads to injured list

Rooker was placed on the 10-day injured list Thursday with a costochondral cartilage injury.

Rooker departed Sunday's 7-1 win over the Tigers with the injury and didn't make enough improvement in subsequent days to avoid the IL. He'll be eligible to return next week, but it's not clear at this point whether he might be ready by then.
