  • Jazz's Jairus Lyles: Overcomes foot sprain

Lyles, who left the Jazz's final Salt Lake City Summer League game last Wednesday due to a foot sprain, has played in two of Utah's three games in Las Vegas and is averaging 4.5 points, 2.5 assists, 1.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals across 13.5 minutes.

The second-year guard overcame his injury relatively quickly and has been playing modest minutes off the bench in the desert thus far. Lyles logged 46 games in the G League last season for the Salt Lake City Stars after going undrafted, and he'll look to continue building his resume during his remaining time in the desert.

  • Jazz's Jairus Lyles: Injures foot

Lyles won't return to Wednesday's summer league tilt with the Spurs due to a left foot sprain, Eric Walden of The Salt Lake Tribune reports.

A timeline for return will likely come out after Lyles can be assessed by the medical staff. It's reasonable to consider Lyles questionable for the Las Vegas summer league session which begins Friday.

  • Jairus Lyles: Returns from concussion

Lyles (concussion) returned to the court Sunday, finishing the 98-89 win over Austin with 11 points (3-9 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 4-6 FT), five rebounds, four assists and two steals.

Lyles technically missed two games with a listed concussion, but it's quite possible the starting small forward's surprising DNP last Saturday could have been a byproduct of the previously unannounced injury. In any case, while Lyles didn't get the start Sunday he did play 22 minutes which would seem to indicate the the 23-year-old is healthy enough to take on his usual allotment of minutes Wednesday against Stockton.

  • Jairus Lyles: Scores 21 in win

Lyles finished Wednesday's win over the Skyforce with 21 points (4-11 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 11-14 FT), six assists, four rebounds and four steals.

Apparently Lyles put together his best James Harden impersonation as the guard garnered a whopping 14 free throw attempts, significantly more than his season average of 3.7. Lyles' numbers haven't changed significantly in January despite a number of the Stars' depth pieces either missing time due to injury or joining the NBA, with the 24-year-old averaging 11.9 points, 4.0 assists and 3.5 rebounds through 31 games this season.

  • Jairus Lyles: Ties for team-lead in points

Lyles finished Friday's loss to the Swarm with 20 points (6-15 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 4-5 FT), four rebounds, two assists and one steal.

Lyles joined fellow bench player Tyler Cavanaugh to lead the team in points Friday, but it wasn't enough to drag the Stars to victory. Lyles is averaging 24.5 minutes through 11 games this season, totaling 11.7 points, 4.4 assists, 3.2 rebounds and 1.4 steals over that stretch.

  • Jairus Lyles: Doesn't make final cut

Lyles was waived by the Jazz on Saturday.

Lyles couldn't impress enough during camp to earn a guaranteed contract. He may end up with the organization's G-League affiliate, the Salt Lake City Stars.
