A layup by Indiana's Thomas Bryant with 9:19 to play staked the Hoosiers to a 14-point lead over Penn State, seemingly blowing the game wide open.

But the Hoosiers (13-6, 3-3 Big Ten) went through a scoring drought of more than three minutes, which allowed the Nittany Lions (11-8, 3-3) to get back in the game. Penn State tied it with four seconds left on the clock, but IU's James Blackmon Jr. closed the door on the potential upset, going coast-to-coast to drill a 3-pointer as time expired for the 78-75 Hoosiers win.

Indiana avoided what would have been a bad road loss and a total collapse. The Hoosiers played without Juwan Morgan, who was out with an ankle injury, and played the entire second half without forward OG Anunoby, who went down with an apparent right knee injury.
