Kastelic logged an assist, two shots on goal, five hits and two PIM in Saturday's 4-3 overtime win over the Flyers.
Kastelic has three helpers over four games in December after going without a point in November. The 25-year-old power forward has been a physical force this season with 115 hits through 28 contests, and he's also collected 10 points to put himself one shy of his career high. He's added 50 PIM, 27 shots on net and a plus-8 rating. Kastelic's consistency is still a little shaky, but he appears set to have something of a breakout year, with enough physicality to carry value in deeper formats.

Bruins' Mark Kastelic: Snaps lengthy drought
Kastelic logged two assists, two shots, one block, five hits and 12 PIM in Sunday's 6-3 win over Montreal.
Like several Boston skaters, Kastelic snapped a drought of some sort in the win. His was a 13-game stretch without a point. He set up the first of Charlie Coyle's two goals, then helped on an empty-net goal. Kastelic also engaged with Montreal's Arber Xhekaj midway through the second period, and each was assessed roughing and misconduct penalties. The fourth-year forward is second on the Bruins with 48 PIM and leads the club with 99 hits.

Bruins' Mark Kastelic: Expected to play Thursday
Kastelic (lower body) is set to play Thursday against Utah.
Kastelic missed Monday's 5-1 loss to Columbus due to the injury. He has three goals, seven points, 24 PIM and 75 hits in 19 appearances in 2024-25. Kastelic's offensive contributions came early in the campaign -- he has just a goal and an assist across his past 15 outings -- and he's projected to center the fourth line Thursday, so Kastelic isn't a great source of points.

Bruins' Mark Kastelic: Hoping to play Thursday
Kastelic (lower body) won't be in the lineup versus the Jackets on Monday but could be ready for Thursday's game versus Utah, Steve Conroy of the Boston Herald reports.
Kastelic's lower-body injury doesn't appear to be serious if he is only going to miss one full game after leaving Saturday's matchup with the Blues. Through 19 games this season, the 25-year-old center has managed three goals and four helpers without the benefit of power-play ice time. Without Kastelic in the lineup, Boston recalled Jeffrey Viel from AHL Providence and will slot him into a fourth-line role against Columbus.

Kastelic won't return to Saturday's tilt against St. Louis because of a lower-body injury.
Kastelic recorded one hit in 5:18 of ice time before departing the game. He entered Saturday's action with three goals, seven points and 74 hits in 18 appearances in 2024-25. If Kastelic isn't available Monday versus Columbus, then John Beecher will probably draw back into the lineup to serve in a bottom-six capacity.

The goal snapped a four-game slump for Kastelic. The 25-year-old's overall numbers are a bit deceptive -- he has six points through nine contests, but he's gotten on the scoresheet in only three games. He's finding success on the Bruins' fourth line nonetheless, adding nine shots on net, 37 hits, 11 blocked shots, 12 PIM and a plus-8 rating. Kastelic should have no trouble eclipsing his career high of 11 points from the 2022-23 campaign.

Kastelic notched a trio of assists in a 4-3 loss to the Panthers on Monday.
Kastelic already has five points through the first four games of the season. At this rate, it won't be too much longer before the 25-year-old center tops his personal-best 11 points from back in 2022-23 when he was with the Senators. Still, a bottom-six role without power-play opportunities will limit Kastelic's ability to continue to produce with consistency the rest of the way.

Kastelic and his fourth-line mates -- Cole Koepke and John Beecher -- accounted for half of Boston's scoring output. The Senators traded Kastelic (upper body), Joonas Korpisalo and a 2024 first-round draft pick to the Bruins in exchange for Linus Ullmark on Monday.
Kastelic is currently set to become a restricted free agent after the 2024-25 campaign but will give the Bruins a cheap depth option for at least a year.
