Georgiev kicked out 25 of 27 shots in a 2-1 loss to Seattle in Game 7 on Sunday. Georgiev allowed two goals on 11 shots in the second period. He was great otherwise, but Colorado couldn't provide him with enough offensive support to get the win. Georgiev finished the playoffs with a 3-4 record, 2.60 GAA and .914 save percentage in seven outings. This was just the first season of his three-year, $10.2 million contract, and the 27-year-old is projected to start the 2023-24 campaign as Colorado's top goaltender.... See More ... See Less

Avalanche's Alexandar Georgiev: Yields three goals in loss
Georgiev stopped 26 of 29 shots in Wednesday's 3-2 loss to the Kraken in Game 5. The Avalanche's defense was a bit sharper than in Game 4, but the result was the same. Georgiev gave up a pair of goals in a span of 3:24 in the second period and surrendered another in the third, with the Kraken then holding on to win. Georgiev is now 2-3 with a 3.03 GAA and a .906 save percentage in five playoff contests. He'll look to keep the Avalanche from getting eliminated in Friday's Game 6 in Seattle.... See More ... Avalanche's Alexandar Georgiev: Starting Game 5
Georgiev will protect the home goal in Wednesday's Game 5 versus the Kraken, Peter Baugh of The Athletic reports. Georgiev will look for a better defensive performance from his team, as they surrendered 43 shots in Game 4, a 3-2 overtime loss. That could be difficult without Cale Makar (suspension). Georgiev has a 2.99 GAA and a .908 save percentage over four playoff contests.... See More ... See Less -
Avalanche's Alexandar Georgiev: Under siege in overtime loss
Georgiev stopped 40 of 43 shots in Monday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Kraken. Georgiev had little time to get into the action before he was faced with a 2-0 deficit just over halfway through the first period. The Avalanche clawed back in the second, but Jordan Eberle cashed in on a rebound three minutes into overtime to give the Kraken the win. Prior to Monday, Georgiev hadn't faced more than 30 shots in a single postseason contest this spring. He's given up 12 goals on 131 shots over four outings, good for a .908 save percentage. He'll look to get back in the win column in Wednesday's pivotal Game 5.... See More ... See Less -

Avalanche's Alexandar Georgiev: Yields four goals in win
Georgiev stopped 25 of 29 shots in Saturday's 6-4 win over the Kraken in Game 3. It wasn't a picture-perfect effort, but plenty of support allowed Georgiev to pick up his second straight win. The 27-year-old has yielded nine goals on 78 shots through three games as the Kraken's offense has been tough to quiet, but as long as the Avalanche keep piling up goals, there's little reason to worry. Georgiev will look to guide them to a Game 4 win on Monday to put Colorado a game away from advancing.... See More ... See Less -
Avalanche's Alexandar Georgiev: Starting in Seattle
Georgiev will guard the road net Saturday in Game 3 against Seattle, Evan Rawal of Colorado Hockey Now reports. Georgiev is coming off a 27-save performance in Thursday's 3-2 win over the Kraken. He has gone 1-1 this postseason, permitting five goals on 59 shots.... See More ... See Less -

Georgiev stopped 27 of 29 shots in Thursday's 3-2 win over the Kraken in Game 2. Georgiev gave up both goals in the first period, including one during an Avalanche power play, before settling in. The Avalanche's offense did just enough to pull ahead on Devon Toews' goal in the third period. With five goals allowed on 59 shots through two playoff outings, Georgiev is doing fine, and he'll look to keep up his strong play as the series shifts to Seattle for the next two games.... Avalanche's Alexandar Georgiev: Starting Thursday
Georgiev will defend the home crease versus Seattle in Game 2 on Thursday, Jesse Montano of DNVR Sports reports. It was a disappointing Game 1 for the Avalanche, who came into Tuesday's tilt a huge favorite to win the series but dropped the opening game 3-1, as Georgiev stopped 27 shots in the loss. Georgiev was 40-16-6 with a 2.53 GAA and .918 save percentage during the regular season but has yet to defeat the Kraken in two career appearances.... See More ... See Less -

Georgiev stopped 27 of 30 shots in Tuesday's 3-1 loss to the Kraken in Game 1. Georgiev hadn't lost in regulation over his last seven games in the regular season. He's up to 11 straight contests without allowing more than three goals, but he didn't get much support Tuesday, as the Kraken's defense held on to stymie the Avalanche. Georgiev was excellent with a 40-16-6 record, a 2.53 GAA and a .918 save percentage in 62 games this season, but it appears the Kraken could be more of a challenge for the defending champions than initially expected.... Georgiev will patrol the home crease during Tuesday's Game 1 versus the Kraken, Jesse Montano of DNVR Sports reports. Georgiev wasn't great in his final appearance of the regular season Friday versus the Predators, surrendering three goals on 21 shots, but he still came away with a win thanks to strong goal support from his teammates. He'll try to secure his first career NHL playoff victory in a home matchup with a Seattle squad that averaged 3.71 goals per game on the road during the regular season, third in the NHL.... Georgiev has finished the campaign with a 40-16-6 record, 2.53 GAA and .918 save percentage in 62 contests. He'll probably be in net Tuesday for Game 1 of Colorado's first-round series versus Seattle.... See More ... See Less -

Avalanche's Alexandar Georgiev: Tough-luck loss in overtime
Georgiev stopped 38 of 40 shots in Tuesday's 2-1 overtime loss to the Oilers. Georgiev met the challenge in regulation, but a Bowen Byram hooking penalty in the extra session was too much for the Avalanche to overcome. The defeat was Georgiev's first in five appearances in April, and he's allowed just 12 goals on 163 shots in that span. For the season, the 27-year-old netminder is at 38-16-6 with a 2.53 GAA and a .919 save percentage through 60 appearances.
