Lightning's Brayden Point: Lights lamp Tuesday
Point scored a goal on two shots in Tuesday's 6-2 loss to the Panthers in Game 1.
Point got the Lightning back within three goals at 13:04 of the second period, but a comeback never materialized. The center's offense was a bit unsteady late in the season -- he earned four goals and five assists over the last nine regular-season games, but three of those outings were multi-point efforts. The 29-year-old totaled 42 goals, 40 assists, 189 shots on net and a plus-17 rating over 77 regular-season contests, so he should be heavily involved in the scoring for the Lightning in the playoffs.

Point's first tally of the night was his 40th, marking the third straight season he's reached that milestone and the fourth of his career. They were both secondary assists. Point is on a four-game, seven-point scoring streak that includes four goals. With eight games remaining, he has plenty of runway to get to 40 goals (he has 38). Point is a fantasy pillar and a key driver for the Bolts as they press for a long playoff run.

Lightning's Brayden Point: Five points in last four games
Point scored his 300th NHL goal and added an assist in an 8-0 win over Utah on Thursday.
Point has four goals on 12 shots and one assist over his last four games. Point continues to play just above a point-per-game pace, but he won't come close to 90 points like he has in his past two seasons. Point appears to be pacing himself for the postseason, but he's providing enough production to support fantasy managers driving toward a championship.

Lightning's Brayden Point: Three goals in last three games
Point scored a goal Tuesday in a 6-1 win over Pittsburgh.
He jammed in a rebound at 16:00 of the first period to run the score up to 4-0. Point has three goals in his last three games, and he has 35 on the season (66 games). He is coming off two straight 90-point seasons, and while he won't hit that mark this season, Point should continue to pace at better than a point per game (69 in 66 games so far). The Bolts have 11 games left, so Point could clear the 80-point threshold his season.

Lightning's Brayden Point: Snaps eight-game goal drought
Point scored twice Saturday in a 6-4 loss to Utah.
His first came on the power play; the second was at even strength. Point had gone eight games without a snipe, but his 34 on the season put him in a four-player tie for sixth overall in the NHL. Point still has a shot at a 40-goal season. If he does that, it would be his third consecutive season hitting that mark and fourth time in his career.
