Anderson recorded an assist, four blocked shots and one hit in Saturday's 4-3 shootout loss to the Islanders.
Anderson's bid on a rush went wide of the net, but Jake Evans corralled the rebound and set up rookie Logan Mailloux for a goal that tied the game, 2-2, early in the second period. The assist was Anderson's second point of the season. He's filling a wing on the third line, but unlike previous campaigns in Montreal, Anderson isn't a regular on the power play. Through six outings, the forward has been on the ice for just 38 seconds when Montreal's on the man advantage.

Canadiens' Josh Anderson: Pockets first goal
Anderson scored a goal on two shots and had four hits in Thursday's 6-4 loss to the Bruins.
Anderson changed the trajectory of a Kaiden Guhle shot from the point midway through the third period to make it a 5-3 score. It's a positive sign for the forward to have scored this early in the season; Anderson did not find the back of the net until the 24th game last year and scored just nine times (6.4 shooting percentage) over 78 games.

Anderson scored an ugly one to make it 5-0 in the second period, shoving a puck into the crease which trickled past Samuel Ersson while being hooked down by Philadelphia's Nick Seeler on a partial breakaway. The goal snapped a 15-game pointless streak for Anderson, who now has just nine tallies and 10 assists through 74 games on the year. He'll remain a fringe fantasy option at best in most formats in 2024-25.

Anderson had an assist, two hits and a five-minute fighting major in Tuesday's 4-3 overtime win over Nashville.
Anderson and Luke Schenn dropped the gloves early in the second period. Later that period, Anderson assisted on Montreal's first goal. He has points in two straight but just 18 overall in 58 games. On another team, that may not warrant top-six status and a spot on the power play, but that's where the Canadiens are right now.

Anderson had an assist, two shots, one block and five hits over 12:38 of ice time in Thursday's 4-3 win over the Islanders.
Following a three-game losing streak, Montreal head coach Martin St. Louis flipped the line assignments for Anderson and Juraj Slafkovsky. Anderson's assist on the Sean Monahan's game-winning goal was just his second point in the last 10 games. He opened the game on the top line with Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield and took several even-strength shifts with his new linemates. The officials called a tight game, which resulted in eight power-play opportunities for New York and five for Montreal, which served to cap Anderson's TOI.
