Kadarius Toney: Still not practicing
Toney (undisclosed) will not practice with the Browns this week, Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.com reports.
Toney signed with Cleveland's practice squad Sept. 9 but has been out of action with the injury since Sept. 11 and will seemingly remain out until at least next week. It's not yet clear what plans the Browns have for the former Chiefs wideout, but he'll need to get healthy first, to earn a spot on their 53-man roster.

Kadarius Toney: Dealing with minor injury
Toney (undisclosed) is not participating in Wednesday's practice, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.
Toney is dealing with an undisclosed minor injury. He inked with Cleveland's practice squad on Monday and is likely still acclimating to the new scheme, but Toney won't be a candidate for elevation to the active roster until he gets healthy.

Kadarius Toney: Joining Cleveland practice squad
Toney agreed to join the Browns' practice squad Monday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Toney was let go by the Chiefs during roster cutdowns, but he'll now get a fresh start with the Browns. When healthy, Toney offers play-making potential, but with Amari Cooper, Jerry Jeudy, Elijah Moore and Cedric Tillman already in the team's wideout mix, Toney doesn't have an immediate path to a large role in Cleveland's offense.

Kadarius Toney: Tries out for Cleveland
The Browns hosted Toney for a tryout Friday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.
Toney recently visited with the Seahawks, but he ended up departing Seattle without a deal. It was reported that he had one more workout lined up, after which he would make a decision on whether to sign with one of the two suitors. With Cleveland being revealed as the second team in the mix, Toney's decision could come down to where he feels he has the best opportunity to contribute. In either case, he'd likely have to start on the practice squad, but the Browns are relatively thin at receiver behind Amari Cooper, Jerry Jeudy and Elijah Moore, especially after having waived David Bell on Thursday.

Kadarius Toney: Seattle visit ends without deal
Toney left the Seahawks facilities without a deal after visiting the team Tuesday, and he's expected to visit at least one more team before deciding where to sign, Justin Melo of USA Today reports.
Toney, who was waived by the Chiefs amid roster cuts after a disappointing 2023 season with the team, is likely in consideration for a practice squad spot with Seattle. The Seahawks only currently have Cody White as a receiver on the practice squad, while the team's active roster boasts a deep unit headlined by DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett (leg) and Jaxon Smith-Njigba. Before making a decision Toney is expected to meet with another undisclosed franchise.

Kadarius Toney: Waived by Kansas City
Kansas City is slated to waive Toney on Tuesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Toney's arrow appeared to be pointing up back in 2022, when he was traded by the Giants mid-season and made some key plays in Kansas City's Super Bowl LVII win, but across 13 regular-season appearances in 2023 he was mistake-prone and inconsistent, totaling a 27-169-1 receiving line. Kansas City's recent addition of JuJu Smith-Schuster, who also played for the team in 2022, seems to have made Toney fully redundant as the team cuts down to 53 players. The 2021 first-round pick got some work out of the backfield and on special teams in training camp, and he boasts enough talent that another club could claim him off waivers.

Chiefs' Kadarius Toney: Solid in exhibition finale
Toney secured two of three targets for 26 yards and returned one punt for 16 yards in the Chiefs' 34-21 preseason loss to the Bears on Thursday night.
Toney has had a quiet preseason partly due to a back injury, but he turned in a solid performance relative to opportunity Thursday. The 2021 first-round pick of the Giants is looking for a reset of sorts as he heads into his second full season in Kansas City, after suffering through an inconsistent and mistake-laden 2023 campaign that also saw him besieged by multiple injuries. Whether he's done enough to hold on to a roster spot remains to seen given the Chiefs' refurbishing of the receiving corps this offseason, but Marquise Brown's shoulder injury could buy Toney some early-season time in a best-case scenario.
