  • Ravens' Devin Duvernay: Coach sheds light on injury

Ravens head coach John Harbaugh confirmed Thursday that Duvernay suffered a broken fifth metatarsal of his right foot during Tuesday's practice, Clifton Brown of the Ravens' official site reports. "[It was] out of the blue. He felt something [while running a route]," Harbaugh said. "We didn't know how serious is was or wasn't until later, and they got the X-rays back and it was just a broken fifth metatarsal."

Duvernay was shuttled to injured reserve just hours after suffering the injury, opening up a spot on the 53-man roster for waiver-wire pickup Sammy Watkins in the process. Harbaugh seemed to suggest that Duvernay won't need surgery to address the injury, with the coach noting that the receiver will have a chance to return for the Super Bowl, should the Ravens be able to make an improbable postseason run. For all intents and purposes, however, Duvernay's 2022 season can be considered over, with the Ravens set to move forward with Demarcus Robinson, DeSean Jackson, Watkins and James Proche as their available options at receiver

  • Ravens' Devin Duvernay: Heads to IR

The Ravens placed Duvernay (foot) on injured reserve Tuesday.

The nature of the injury Duvernay suffered during Tuesday's practice still isn't fully known, but the Ravens evidently determined the issue was significant enough to sideline the receiver for the remaining three games of the regular season as well as the first round of the postseason, should Baltimore secure a spot. The Ravens claimed Sammy Watkins off waivers from the Packers on Tuesday, adding a healthy body to a depleted receiver room. Tight end Mark Andrews remains the Ravens' clear top option in the passing game, but the absence of Duvernay should at least open up more playing time and perhaps an extra target or two for the likes of Demarcus Robinson, DeSean Jackson, Watkins and James Proche.

  • Ravens' Devin Duvernay: Fractures foot, out for season

Duvernay sustained a broken foot during Tuesday's practice, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Though the Ravens placed Duvernay on injured reserve Tuesday, the exact nature of his injury wasn't revealed. With Duvernay having now been diagnosed with the fractured foot, he'll face a recovery timetable of approximately two months, which rules him out from returning during the postseason even if Baltimore clinches a spot and makes a deep run. With Duvernay sidelined, Demarcus Robinson, DeSean Jackson, Sammy Watkins and James Proche are candidates to see increased roles in Baltimore's passing game.

  • Ravens' Devin Duvernay: Injured in practice

Duvernay suffered a foot injury during Tuesday's practice, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

The Ravens reportedly are concerned it's a significant injury and have Duvernay undergoing tests Tuesday afternoon. He hasn't seen many targets recently, but Duvernay and Demarcus Robinson have dominated the WR snaps for Baltimore the past month and a half. The Ravens claimed Sammy Watkins off waivers Tuesday in a move that arguably made sense even without the Duvernay injury.
