  • Seahawks' Uchenna Nwosu: On track for Week 1

Nwosu (pectoral) is expected to be ready for the start of the regular season, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.

Nwosu missed all but the first six games of the 2023 campaign due to a torn pectoral, and while it's unclear whether he'll be ready for the start of training camp, there seem to be no concerns about his Week 1 availability. When healthy, Nwosu's presence should provide Seattle's pass rush with a boost it sorely missed last year, as the 27-year-old recorded 9.5 sacks over 17 games in 2022.

  • Seahawks' Uchenna Nwosu: Heads to IR

Nwosa (pectoral) was placed on injured reserve Thursday, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.

The 26-year-old edge rusher out of USC suffered a pectoral injury during Seattle's Week 7 win over the Cardinals, and the fact he's set to undergo season-ending surgery led to the IR designation. Nwosu has started all 23 games he's appeared in for the Seahawks over the last two years, recording 82 total tackles, including 16 tackles for loss, with 11.5 sacks part of that latter figure.

Coach Pete Carroll said Monday that Nwosu is likely to miss at least one game with a pectoral strain, Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports.
