Buccaneers' Russell Gage: Reworks contract
The Buccaneers restructured Gage's contact Sunday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Gage agreed to adjust his 2023 base salary from $10 million to $7 million, thus creating some slight relief for the cap-strapped Buccaneers. This renegotiated contract does fully guarantee his payment for the 2023 season, which represents a $2 million increase in guaranteed salary, according to Greg Auman of Fox Sports. Gage's new deal also includes multiple salary incentives that will give him an opportunity to earn back some of his previous salary.

Buccaneers' Russell Gage: Avoids neck injury
Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles confirmed Tuesday that Gage (concussion) has movement in all of his extremities and should be released from the hospital later Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Gage was hospitalized after exiting late in the fourth quarter of Monday's 31-14 loss to the Cowboys in the wild-card round upon taking a hit to the back of his head/neck area. While Gage has been diagnosed with a concussion, Bowles disclosed that the Buccaneers have ruled out any neck injury for the veteran receiver. Provided he isn't experiencing long-term symptoms of the concussion, Gage looks like he'll be a full participant by the time OTAs begin in the spring. Gage, who tallied two catches for 10 yards on eight targets before exiting Monday's contest, finished the regular season -- his first in Tampa Bay -- with a 51-426-5 receiving line over 13 games.

Buccaneers' Russell Gage: Has movement in all extremities
The Buccaneers announced Tuesday that Gage (concussion/neck) remained overnight for additional testing at a local hospital following Monday's loss to the Cowboys, and that he has regained movement in all his extremities.
Tampa Bay's statement notes that Gage will undergo additional testing Tuesday. The wideout had to be carted off the field during Monday's wild-card playoff loss against Dallas due to a neck injury and concussion. The Buccaneers will provide further updates about the 26-year-old's health as more information becomes available.

Buccaneers' Russell Gage: Finds end zone in finale
Gage secured three of six targets for 15 yards and a touchdown in the Buccaneers' 30-17 loss to the Falcons on Sunday.
Gage recorded a three-yard touchdown grab in conjunction with Blaine Gabbert late in the second quarter, which served as the highlight of his abbreviated workday. With Julio Jones (knee) inactive and seemingly a 50/50 proposition to play each week, Gage could be in for an elevated role in next weekend's home wild-card matchup after finishing the regular season with a surge that saw him tally four of his five scores in the last five games.

Gage caught all three of his targets for 33 yards in Sunday's 30-24 win over the Panthers.
Gage operated as the Buccaneers' No. 3 receiver Sunday, playing 42 of the team's 78 offensive snaps. The 26-year-old has maintained a solid snap share on offense even with Julio Jones active for the past two games. Tampa Bay continues to limit Jones' snaps as he recovers from a knee injury that sidelined him in Week 15. Gage will look to stay involved in a Week 18 matchup against the Falcons, though his opportunities may be limited behind fellow wideouts Mike Evans and Chris Godwin.

Buccaneers' Russell Gage: Should still enjoy solid role
Gage should retain a solid snap share in Sunday's Week 17 divisional battle against the Panthers despite the fact fellow wideout Julio Jones (knee) is active for the contest, per Scott Smith of the team's official site.
Jones once again was handled with care throughout the practice week due to his lingering knee issues, and although he'll suit up versus Carolina, a similar scenario to last Sunday night's overtime win against the Cardinals could unfold. In that contest, Jones played just 19 snaps to Gage's 43, with the latter producing a 5-65 line on six targets. Given Gage also proved highly valuable with eight receptions, including a pair of touchdowns, in a Week 15 loss to the Bengals that Jones was sidelined for, he could certainly play much more of a co-No. 3 receiver role once again versus the Panthers.
