  • Bears' Eddie Jackson: Might require surgery

Jackson (foot) could require surgery to address his Lisfranc injury, Adam Hoge of reports.

Jackson was placed on injured reserve Tuesday and is expected to miss the rest of the season, but if surgery is deemed necessary, his availability for OTAs this spring could also be in jeopardy. The veteran safety had enjoyed a resurgent sixth season in the NFL before he suffered the non-contact foot injury in last week's loss to the Jets. He'll finish the 2022 campaign with 80 tackles, four interceptions and two forced fumbles in 12 games.

According to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, Jackson is still receiving further medical opinions on his injury, but surgery could be necessary. Elijah Hicks will stand to handle an increased role versus the Packers in Week 13 and as long as Jackson remains sidelined.

  • Bears' Eddie Jackson: Done for Week 12

Jackson (foot) is out for the remainder of Sunday's game against the Jets, Kevin Fishbain of The Athletic reports.

Jackson had trouble getting off the field after suffering the injury and was ultimately carted to the locker room. His absence is a significant blow to the Bears' secondary, especially with Jaquan Brisker (concussion) inactive and Dane Cruikshank exiting Sunday's game due to a hamstring injury. Elijah Hicks has now taken over at free safety for Jackson.
