Jackson (foot) began running three weeks ago, according to Dan Wiederer of the Chicago Tribune.
Jackson battled various nicks and dings last season, missing five games, but his season ended for good after Week 12 due to a Lisfranc injury. He didn't require surgery to fix the issue and still isn't back to 100 percent, but Jackson appears to be trending in the right direction ahead of OTAs. Jackson picked off four passes in 2022, his highest total since he compiled a career-high six interceptions in 2018.

Bears' Eddie Jackson: Ends season on injured reserve
Johnson ended the season with 35 tackles, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery over 11 games.
Johnson (finger/ribs) was placed on injured reserve after Week 15 and played 11 games. He failed to intercept a pass, and he has just one pick during his three years in the league. As a tackler, he averaged three per game, though his game-to-game production was inconsistent. Unless his situation changes next year, he'll be a moderate-floor, low-upside IDP option. He's under contract with the team through the 2023 season.

Bears' Eddie Jackson: No surgery needed
Jackson (foot) announced Friday via his personal Twitter account that he won't need surgery.
Jackson was placed on injured reserve at the end of November due to a Lisfranc injury and is expected to miss the rest of the 2022 campaign. However, the veteran safety won't need surgery to address his foot issue, so he'll presumably make a full recovery and be 100 percent healthy for offseason training.

Jackson was placed on injured reserve Tuesday and is expected to miss the rest of the season, but if surgery is deemed necessary, his availability for OTAs this spring could also be in jeopardy. The veteran safety had enjoyed a resurgent sixth season in the NFL before he suffered the non-contact foot injury in last week's loss to the Jets. He'll finish the 2022 campaign with 80 tackles, four interceptions and two forced fumbles in 12 games.

Bears' Eddie Jackson: Heads to IR
Chicago placed Jackson (foot) on injured reserve Tuesday, Larry Mayer of the Bears' official site reports.
Though Jackson is technically eligible to return from IR in Week 18, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network relays that the veteran safety is expected to be shut down for the season after suffering what appeared to be a non-contact Lisfranc injury in Sunday's loss to the Jets. According to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, Jackson is still receiving further medical opinions on his injury, but surgery could be necessary. The 28-year-old was in the midst of a resurgent season, recording 80 tackles, six pass breakups, four interceptions and two forced fumbles through Chicago's first 12 games.

The Bears fear Jackson (foot) suffered a Lisfranc injury during Sunday's loss to the Jets, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Jackson was carted to the locker room after doing down on the field during Sunday's loss, and he's now considered out indefinitely while undergoing more tests. If a Lisfranc injury is confirmed, the standout safety's 2022 campaign could be over. Elijah Hicks will stand to handle an increased role versus the Packers in Week 13 and as long as Jackson remains sidelined.

Jackson (foot) is out for the remainder of Sunday's game against the Jets, Kevin Fishbain of The Athletic reports.
Jackson had trouble getting off the field after suffering the injury and was ultimately carted to the locker room. His absence is a significant blow to the Bears' secondary, especially with Jaquan Brisker (concussion) inactive and Dane Cruikshank exiting Sunday's game due to a hamstring injury. Elijah Hicks has now taken over at free safety for Jackson.

Jackson recorded seven tackles (six solo) and one pass defended during Sunday's 27-24 win over the Bears.
Jackson tied rookie cornerback Kyler Gordon for the Bears' third-most tackles Week 11. The veteran safety also logged his first pass defended that was not an interception of the season, and he has now played every defensive snap in all but of two games in 2022. Jackson is five tackles shy of matching his career-high mark from the 2020 campaign, and he should have a chance to crack this personal-best record against the Jets in Week 13.

Jackson logged seven tackles (six solo) during Sunday's 35-32 loss to the Dolphins.
Jackson tied with rookie linebacker Jack Sanborn for the Bears' second-most tackles behind cornerback Kyler Gordon. The veteran safety has collected at least seven stops in all but three of nine games this season, and, after inside linebacker Roquan Smith was traded last Monday, he now has the most tackles of any current Chicago defender this season.
