  • Jaguars' Ben Koyack: Catches one pass

Koyack caught one of three targets for nine yards in 11 games this season.

The 26-year-old fell victim to roster cutdowns at the start of the season but rejoined the Jags in early October following numerous injuries to the tight end group. Koyack has been cut multiple times since being drafted in the seventh round by Jacksonville in 2015, but he's still appeared in 48 games with the team. He'll hit free agency in March, but he could rejoin the Jaguars once again if they're in need of a run-blocking tight end.

  • Jaguars' Ben Koyack: Back in Jacksonville

Koyack signed with the Jaguars on Wednesday, John Reid of The Florida Times-Union reports.

The Jaguars picked Koyack in the seventh round of the 2015 NFL Draft, and they're the only team he's played for despite being cut multiple times. He's back with the team, though, and he'll serve as depth since James O'Shaughnessy was ruled out for the season with a torn ACL. Koyack serves mainly as a run-blocker, as he has just 24 receptions for 199 yards and a touchdown in 37 career games.

  • Ben Koyack: Let go by Jags

Koyack was cut by Jacksonville on Sunday, Tom Pelissero of reports.

In his first two seasons with the Jaguars, Koyack appeared in 37 games, logging 24 receptions for 199 yards and one touchdown. The 26-year-old didn't record any offensive statistics last season. In corresponding moves, the Jaguars claimed fellow tight ends Tyler Ervin and Seth DeValve on Sunday.

  • Jaguars' Ben Koyack: Snags both targets in loss

Koyack brought in both of his targets for 17 yards in the Jaguars' 24-10 preseason loss to the Eagles on Thursday.

Koyack is presumably battling fellow 2015 draftee James O'Shaughnessy for the team's third tight end spot, and in that regard, he gave a solid accounting of himself Thursday. The fifth-year pro showed some promise with a 19-161-1 line during his rookie season, but he's logged just five receptions (seven targets) across 23 games over the subsequent pair of campaigns.

  • Jaguars' Ben Koyack: Battling for roster spot

Koyack is battling for a roster spot ahead of the 2019 season, Phillip Heiman of the Florida Times-Union reports.

Heiman's early roster projection does not include Koyack. Instead, he lists James O'Shaughnessy as the favorite to land the No. 3 role behind offseason addition Geoff Swaim and third-round rookie Josh Oliver. There's plenty of time for Koyack to make his bid for a spot on the 53-man roster, though, and it's not impossible that Jacksonville carries four tight ends into the regular season. In seven games with the Jaguars last year, Koyack logged 111 offensive snaps without seeing a single target in the passing game.

  • Jaguars' Ben Koyack: Exits game with hand injury

Koyack is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Texans due to a hand injury.

Koyack will miss out on his final chance to catch a pass in 2018 if he's unable to retake the field. As long as Koyack remains sidelined, Blake Bell should benefit from a slight uptick in snaps.

  • Jaguars' Ben Koyack: Still seeking first reception

Koyack played 18 offensive snaps in Thursday's 30-9 loss at Tennessee.

Koyack has seen a similar snap count in each of his four games since signing with the Jaguars last month. The 25-year-old has more or less been splitting reps as the team's No. 2 tight end with Blake Bell, though neither has produced much of note offensively.

  • Jaguars' Ben Koyack: Inks deal with Jags

Koyack signed with Jacksonville on Monday, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.

Koyack has familiarity with the Jaguars so it's likely he'll be able to mesh with Blake Bortles right away. While he'll likely begin his new tenure behind the likes of James O'Shaughnessy and Blake Bell, there's a chance he can snag the starting tight end spot before season's end. Koyack hauled in 24 receptions for 199 yards and a score with the Jaguars over 2016 and 2017.

  • Ben Koyack: Agrees on injury settlement

The Jaguars and Koyack (undisclosed) came to terms on an injury settlement Saturday, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.

Koyack was set to spend his season on the sidelines before both he and the Jags reached an agreement on an injury settlement. Once his health is up to par he will be free to find a new opportunity.

  • Jaguars' Ben Koyack: Heading to IR

Koyack (undisclosed) cleared waivers and reverted to injured reserve, according to the league's official transaction log.

It isn't clear what Koyack is tending to, but the tight end is nonetheless stuck on IR through the end of the league year unless he agrees to an injury settlement.

  • Ben Koyack: Pushed to waivers

The Jaguars waived/injured Koyack (undisclosed) on Saturday, Mike Kaye of First Coast News reports.

Koyack was an infrequent contributor in the Jags' passing game last season, snagging just five balls for 38 yards. He'll likely pass through waivers and be stashed on injured reserve.

  • Jaguars' Ben Koyack: Sits out practice

Koyack (knee) did not participate in practice Monday, John Oehser of the Jaguars' official site reports.

Koyack has done little to climb the depth chart this preseason, leaving him primed to enter his fourth season behind fellow tight ends Austin Seferian-Jenkins and Niles Paul. With only five catches for 38 yards over 16 games in 2017, the 25-year-old is a long shot for fantasy relevance,

  • Jaguars' Ben Koyack: Back at practice

Koyack (knee) was seen participating in both team and individual drills during Tuesday's practice, Zach Berman of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Koyack was sidelined for Monday's practice due to a knee injury, but it looks like it was a minor one given his immediate return. Koyack is expected to begin the regular season as the No. 3 tight end behind Austin Seferian-Jenkins and Niles Paul.

  • Jaguars' Ben Koyack: Inks exclusive-rights tender

Koyack signed his exclusive-rights tender Thursday, locking him in with the Jaguars for the 2018 season, Mike Kaye of reports.

Koyack returns to a new-look tight-end group in Jacksonville following the release of longtime starter Marcedes Lewis and the signings of Austin Seferian-Jenkins and Niles Paul earlier this month. Seferian-Jenkins profiles as the top pass-catching option at the position while Paul should see plenty of work as a blocker, which may make it difficult for Koyack to see consistent snaps in his fourth NFL season. Koyack suited up for all 16 regular-season games for the Jaguars in 2017, catching five passes for 38 yards.

  • Jaguars' Ben Koyack: Slapped with exclusive rights tender

The Jaguars placed an exclusive-rights tender on Koyack, John Oehser of the team's official site reports.

The rules of the tender are a bit tricky, but there are several important takeaways. Most notably, by placing the tender on Koyack, the Jaguars have forced three-year veteran to either sign the tender or sit out this upcoming season. In effect, he cannot sign elsewhere. With this understanding in check, it's expected Koyack will be back with Jacksonville in 2018.

  • Jaguars' Ben Koyack: Five receptions on season

Koyack recorded five receptions for 38 yards on seven targets in 16 games this season.

Although he only recorded five receptions on the year, Koyack still averaged just over 26 offensive reps per game last season. The third-year pro enters the offseason as an exclusive-rights free agent.
