In an effort to strengthen the jumbled mess that is their offensive line, the Seahawks have added a six-time Pro Bowler. The team announced on Saturday that they've signed veteran right guard Jahri Evans.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The 32-year-old arrives in Seattle after spending the first 10 years of his career in New Orleans. During his time with the Saints, Evans was voted to six Pro Bowls and named first-team All Pro a total of four times.
After being selected in the fourth round of the 2006 NFL Draft, Evans would go on to start in 112 consecutive regular season games over the next seven years. The offensive lineman didn't miss a single start in his career until 2013, when he missed two games.
Evans missed five games in 2015 after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery.
The Saints released Evans in February after he was unwilling to take a pay cut.
Evans will bring some serious experience to the Seahawks offensive line, which is something the current unit definitely doesn't have.

The five players currently projected to make up the Seahawks starting offensive line are all playing positions that they didn't really play last year. Evans will likely compete with Mark Glowinski and rookie Germain Ifedi for playing time at guard.
Seahawks offensive line coach Tom Cable admitted that he's not exactly sure who's going to be starting on the line once the season starts. Cable has been experimenting with different combinations of starters in training camp.
"You're going to continue to see that going forward," Cable said on Friday, via Seahawks.com. "We'll shuffled it around a little bit to look at different combinations and see how they work together, but also to see how a couple of those young guys can handle being in the first(-team) huddle against the first defense."
The Seahawks released Kona Schwenke to make room on the roster for Evans.
