Seahawks cornerback Walter Thurmond has been activated from the physically unable to perform list, Seattle announced on Wednesday. The team had until Nov. 12 to activate Thurmond, but decided to make the move early after clearing roster space on Tuesday by waiving WR Charly Martin

Martin was resigned Wednesday to Seattle's practice squad.

It's been a long road to recovery for Thurmond, who broke his fibula against Cleveland on Oct. 23 of last year. Thurmond went through a prolonged and difficult rehab process that included re-fracturing the fibula in March, forcing him to undergo a second surgery.

Thurmond returned to practice on Oct. 22, almost exactly one year after the original injury took place. The Seahawks had 21 days from the day Thurmond returned to practice to decide whether or not to activate him.

With Thurmond now on the active roster and Martin on the practice squad, the Seahawks had to make one other move and they did that Tuesday by releasing WR Lavasier Tuinei from the practice squad.

Full blown injury report: The Seahawks are only one week away from their bye, but that one week must feel like five years right now. The team released its injury report on Wednesday and it was the biggest one of the season. RB Marshawn Lynch (back/wrist), DE Red Bryant (foot), OG James Carpenter (concussion), SS Kam Chancellor (quadricep), WR Braylon Edwards (knee), DT Clinton McDonald (groin) and LB K.J. Wright (concussion) all sat out practice on Wednesday with various ailments.

With Lynch most likely being held out for precautionary reasons, the most troublesome name on the list has to be Edwards. Edwards has missed the last two games with a knee injury. The Seahawks can't exactly afford an injury at receiver right now as there are only five receivers on the active roster, a number that includes Edwards.

One of the other five receivers, Doug Baldwin (ankle), was also on the injury report, but he was a full participant in practice.

Besides receiver, the injury bug is also biting the defensive line. Not only were Bryant and McDonald held out of practice, but Jason Jones (ankle) was a limited participant.
