Ryan Fitzpatrick likens being a quarterback to being on 'The Bachelor'

Bills quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick believes that being an NFL quarterback is actually very similar to being a contestant on 'The Bachelor.' Which is, well, something.

Typically speaking, the only thing that the NFL and The Bachelor have in common are that they come on television on Mondays. But Bills quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick thinks the two are more alike than you'd ever imagine.

Asked 550 WGR in Buffalo (via SportsRadioInterviews.com) about feeling like the bachelor because of all the extra attention from wideouts, Fitzpatrick agreed wholeheartedly and offered up that Steve Johnson would've gotten his very first rose.

"I think it is very true," Fitzpatrick said of the comparison. "Right when I got to Buffalo I would have given my first impression rose to Stevie Johnson. That’s one of those things that you don’t really see on The Bachelor. Somebody winning it from day one on. It’s like you’re dating all these different guys and you are trying to form these relationships on the field with these guys trying to get their moves down, trying to get my points across of where I want them to be."

Fitzpatrick also said that, just like on The Bachelor (or, um, so I hear), he has to deal with one-on-one sessions when it comes to wide receivers.

"I think this is a great analogy because as quarterback when you are The Bachelor all of a sudden you have those 25 girls and those 25 girls are almost forced to like you," Fitzpatrick said. "They have to try to be friendly with you. That’s how my receivers are too. I don’t know if they really like me or not, but they have to act like it. They are trying to win me over. We have a lot of fun with that group though."

It's actually kind of hilarious to think about Fitzpatrick and Johnson -- not to mention the ridiculously tall David Nelson -- taking part in a reality show involving roses handed out to other dudes.

Unfortunately for the Bills quarterback, it's the division-rival Dolphins that will be getting all the camera time leading up to the season. Fortunately for Fitzpatrick, there aren't any awards handed out for performance on a reality show in the NFL. If the analogy leads to wins, then the Bills fans will be more than happy.
