With the first week of training camp wrapped up, the Ravens will begin nearing the end of its installation phase in the coming days. Practices have been physical, though only one fight has broken out. Injuries are beginning to creep up as they typically do during the preseason but none appear serious.

Who’s here

After missing the first few days of camp with back spasms, rookie offensive lineman Kelechi Osemele began took the field and has surged to a hot start. Osemele is running with the first team at right tackle for the time being but could wind up playing the season as a backup there and at left guard. Defensive end Pernell McPhee, who had minor knee surgery this offseason, had his first training camp practice on Wednesday. McPhee finished second on the team with six sacks in 2011 and will look to expand his role this season.

Who’s not

While left tackle Bryant McKinnie is technically on site he has yet to practice since reporting to training camp on Monday. McKinnie said he fell outside of his South Florida home and injured his back which caused a delay in his arrival. The coaches are less than enthused about this, stating there will be a competition between McKinnie and Michael Oher at left tackle. Tight end Dennis Pitta broke his hand and will miss the rest of the preseason. Defensive tackle Haloti Ngata (hamstring), offensive lineman Jah Reid (calf) and linebacker Courtney Upshaw (shoulder) have missed multiple days due to injuries.
