Versatility played a huge part in DT Bryan Hall makig the Baltimore Ravens' 53-man roster.

The second-year lineman out of Arkansas State made the roster, though coach John Harbaugh wouldn't comment on it until the organization issues its official release. But what he did say about Hall was his ability to play multiple positions, which now includes middle linebacker after the Rams' 31-17 win over the Ravens Thursday night.

"He plays every position on the (defensive) line, he plays a little bit of special teams," Harbaugh said, following Friday morning's walkthrough. "He could probably give you something on offense at fullback. And now he has middle linebacker on his resume."

The Ravens have until 9 p.m. on Friday night to finalize the 53-man roster.

Present at the walkthrough: Bubble players RB Anthony Allen, WR Deonte Thompson, CB Chykie Brown, CB Danny Gorrer, OLB Sergio Kindle and RB Bobby Rainey were all spotted walking off the field after Friday's walkthrough practice. However, this doesn't mean these players are safe.

The Baltimore Sun first reported that Allen will be released on Friday, which could mean the Ravens didn't get to talk with the second-year running back before the scheduled practice began.

Injury update, or not: With the regular season essentially underway, Harbaugh said he wouldn't give an injury update until next Wednesday, when it is required by the NFL. However, he said no injuries from Thursday's fourth preseason game against St. Louis were serious.

This includes injuries to OLB Courtney Upshaw (shoulder), OL Justin Boren (ankle), TE Bruce Figgins (shoulder), Matt Balasavage (ankle), and S Christian Thompson (undisclosed). Upshaw and Boren had MRIs scheduled for Friday.

Harbaugh likes new rules: Harbaugh said he's in favor of new league rules that extend the trade deadline by two weeks and allows a team to place one player on IR that can be activated back onto the 53-man roster.

OL Jah Reid, who's dealing with a calf injury, could receive the designation since he's missed most of the preseason. But Harbaugh said he doesn't envision any player on the roster falling into this category.

"(Reid's) actually getting pretty close," Harbaugh said.
