Offensive coordinator Bill Musgrave said that TE Kyle Rudolph has had a great offseason. “He has gained strength without losing any of his movement. He’s one of the guys we are counting on this year to contribute who wasn’t a fulltime starter last year.”

CB Antoine Winfield is 35 years old and on the backside of his career. He has been credited by his head coach for contributing as a mentor. Winfield said he's more than willing to help any player. Asked if he was transitioning to a post-NFL playing career, Winfield was definite: “Coaching? No. They put in too much time. Maybe high school -- not college or the NFL -- no!”

WR Stephen Burton didn't participate in practice, but coach Leslie Frazier said he is improving: “He is getting better, but he is still day-to-day. We’re still not ready to get him active yet.”

RB Adrian Peterson, who is on the active PUP list, is making progress, according to coach Leslie Frazier. The Vikes will continue to monitor his progress and make a decision on his return. Peterson is working on simulating drills, and the cuts that would be required. “We want work to see how he responds,” said Frazier. “One of the keys is what happens the day after. So we will keep monitoring him, keep adding a little bit more and then make a decision.”

DB Nick Taylor has a shoulder injury. “We are going to get some tests and find how severe that shoulder (injury) is, and we’re going to hold him out until we get some results back,” said Frazier. "We will know a little bit more after Sunday.”

Following Saturday’s afternoon practice, the Vikings coaching staff worked out a couple players. “(It was) a couple of DB’s we were taking a look at,” said Frazier, “just to always be working out guys, just in case we need to bring somebody in.”
