Haason Reddick is coming home. The veteran Panthers pass rusher, who grew up in New Jersey and played for Temple, has agreed to terms on a three-year, $45 million contract with the Eagles, according to NFL Media's Mike Garafolo. Philadelphia was expected to be in the market for pass-rushing help this offseason, and now the team has secured one of the top edge defenders of 2022 free agency, guaranteeing $30M to land the former first-round draft pick.
Reddick's deal is worth up to $49.5M, Garafolo reported, and will average a $15M payout per season, making him one of the top 20 highest-paid pass rushers in the NFL. Philly did not re-sign starting defensive end Derek Barnett before Monday's tampering period began, so Reddick is poised to step in as an immediate starter opposite either longtime veteran Brandon Graham or former fourth-round pick Josh Sweat, who finished 2021 with 7.5 sacks after landing a three-year, $40M extension.

Some inside the organization believe Reddick could also be deployed standing up in a hybrid linebacker/pass-rushing role for defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon's flexible 4-3 scheme, according to ESPN's Tim McManus.
The 27-year-old Reddick originally went 13th overall to the Cardinals in 2017, after a promising run as a Temple Owls walk-on. He managed just 7.5 combined sacks over his first three seasons, moving in and out of the starting lineup as an inside and outside linebacker. Since 2020, however, he's emerged as one of the game's most explosive edge rushers, parlaying a 12.5-sack breakout during his contract year with the Cardinals into a one-year deal with the Panthers. In 2021, he logged 11 sacks for Carolina, as well as 12 tackles for loss and a career-high 18 quarterback hits.
Only T.J. Watt, Myles Garrett, Trey Hendrickson and Aaron Donald have more sacks since the start of the 2020 season.
