After he was fired on Monday, coach Norv Turner advised fans to be patient with his replacement. Turner said he felt the current talent level on the Bolts may put them a couple of years out from a return to the playoffs. He may have also been taking into consideration the Chargers’ 2013 opponents.

San Diego will play six games against teams who made this year’s playoffs: Bengals (10-6), twice the Broncos (13-3), Colts (11-5), Texans (12-4) and Redskins (10-6). Four of these games will be at home. Denver and Washington will be on the road.

Three other games will be against teams who finished with the same record or better than the Chargers (7-9) did in 2012: Cowboys (8-8), Giants (9-7) and Dolphins (7-9). The Cowboys and Giants will also be at home.
