The Buffalo Bills have some interesting numbers on their depth chart following Friday’s cuts. If you count Brad Smith as a QB and not a WR -- and the Bills consider him as a QB first, WR second -- the team currently has four QBs and only four WRs. They also have two kickers, including kickoff specialist John Potter, and a few surprises at LB and S.

Coach Chan Gailey acknowledged Saturday following a walk-through that more changes could be on the horizon before the start of the regular season.

“I think you’ve been around [general manager] Buddy [Nix] and I long enough to know that nothing’s ever set,” Gailey said. “We’re always looking for different ways to improve our football team. I doubt that what you see today is what shows up next Sunday.”

Specifically at wide receiver, Gailey feels the Bills have enough bodies at the moment. It’s possible that the Bills will supplement their receiving corps with RB C.J. Spiller and H-back Dorin Dickerson, as well.

“If you’ve got a couple, you can go play,” Gailey said. “So we’ve got enough to play.”

McGee update: The Bills received good news regarding the health of CB Terrence McGee (knee). The veteran should return to practice on Monday. “He’s back to where he was going into the Pittsburgh game which is a real positive that he’d bounce back that quickly,” Gailey said.

Pears return? RT Erik Pears could also return on Monday. Pears missed nearly all of Buffalo’s offseason and preseason workouts with a groin injury. “I think he will,” Gailey said. “He’ll take some limited reps on Monday.”

Gailey on QB decision: Circumstances played a big role in Buffalo’s decision to keep four QBs. Tarvaris Jackson was acquired through trade on Monday and Brad Smith left Thursday’s game with a groin injury. Said Gailey: “The injury to Brad, Tarvaris not being here but a short amount of time, all of that played into it. And you deal with what you are having to make a decision with at that time. A month from now may be different but today that’s where we are."
