Johnson (rest) isn't listed on the injury report for Wednesday's regular-season opener against the Nets, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
As expected, Johnson is ready for the regular season after resting during the Hawks' preseason finale. The youngster broke out last year, averaging 16.0 points, 8.7 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 2.0 stocks per game before injuries derailed his campaign.

Hawks' Jalen Johnson: Signs five-year extension
Johnson (rest) signed a five-year, $150 million rookie contract extension with the Hawks on Monday, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
Johnson saw his role expand during the 2023-24 regular season, during which he averaged 16.0 points on 51.1 percent shooting, 8.7 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.2 steals over 33.7 minutes per game across 56 regular-season contests. The 2021 first-round pick is expected to be the Hawks' No. 2 option on offense behind Trae Young after Dejounte Murray was traded to the Pelicans in late June.

Johnson logged 21 points (8-9 FG, 4-4 3Pt, 1-1 FT), five rebounds, four assists and one steal over 17 minutes in Wednesday's 120-111 preseason loss to the Heat.
Johnson was Atlanta's leading scorer Wednesday and the second-leading scorer for the game behind Jimmy Butler (24). Johnson, the Hawks' first-round pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, took on an expanded role during the 2023-24 regular season, and across 56 regulars-season games (52 starts) he averaged 16.0 points on 51.1 percent shooting, 8.7 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 1.2 steals and 0.8 blocks over 33.7 minutes per contest. Johnson led the Hawks in scoring during this tight win. If this preseason contest is any indication for the regular season, the youngster might be ready for another jump after a career year in 2023-24. Johnson averaged 16.0 points, 8.7 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 1.2 steals, 0.8 blocks and 1.3 three-pointers per game in 56 regular-season appearances with the Hawks before a Grade 2 lateral ankle sprain ended his season prematurely. However, now healthy, he figures to play a prominent role on offense for Atlanta in 2024-25, probably as the team's second-best offensive option behind Trae Young.

Hawks' Jalen Johnson: Going through camp
Johnson (ankle) was spotted going through Wednesday's training camp session, Kevin Chouinard of the Hawks' official site reports.
Johnson missed the end of the 2023-24 campaign with a Grade 2 lateral ankle sprain. At Media Day, Johnson said he will be wearing some new shoes along with an ankle brace to provide more support and prevent future issues. He'll have plenty of hype in fantasy drafts after posting regular-season averages of 16.0 points, 8.7 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 1.2 steals, 0.8 blocks and 1.3 three-pointers in 56 appearances.
