Green (Achilles) is questionable for Wednesday's regular-season opener against the Rockets.
Green hasn't played since Oct. 10 against Memphis due to Achilles soreness. The 23-year-old played a significant role off the bench for Dallas last season, and he will likely step into the starting lineup for the Hornets in the 2024-25 campaign. If Green is unable to go Wednesday, Cody Martin and Tidjane Salaun are both candidates to pick up extra minutes.

Hornets' Josh Green: Remains out Thursday
Green (rest) didn't play in Thursday's 121-116 preseason loss to the Pacers.
The Hornets have yet to indicate that Green is dealing with any kind of injury, though it's concerning that he hasn't seen any game action since Oct. 10 against Memphis. As long as he's healthy, he should be a full go for his squad's regular-season opener Wednesday in Houston.

Green (rest) didn't play during Tuesday's preseason 111-105 loss to the Hornets.
Green sat out Charlotte's previous contest for rest purposes, but the team gave no indication that he would sit out again Tuesday or had suffered an injury. Regardless, Green's next chance to suit up will be Thursday's preseason finale against Indiana.

Hornets' Josh Green: Resting Thursday
Green won't play in Thursday's preseason game against the Grizzlies for rest purposes, Roderick Boone of The Charlotte Observer reports.
The team mentioned leading up to Thursday's exhibition that a few of the regular starters would get the night off, and it's since been announced that Green and LaMelo Ball won't suit up. Tidjane Salaun could be in line for more chances in Green's absence.

Hornets' Josh Green: Traded to Charlotte
Dallas traded Green to the Hornets as part of a three-team deal Monday, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports.
With Klay Thompson joining the Mavericks as part of this deal, Green had to make way and landed in a very good spot for his development. As part of the rebuilding roster in Charlotte, Green could potentially take on a key role on the wings. Last season in Dallas, Green posted averages of 8.2 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.3 three-pointers over 57 regular-season games.

Mavericks' Josh Green: Efficient from deep in Game 5 loss
Green notched 14 points (5-8 FG, 4-6 3Pt) and two rebounds across 22 minutes during Monday's 106-88 loss to Boston in Game 5 of the NBA Finals.
Green produced his best game of the playoffs Monday despite the Mavericks losing Game 5 and the series by a 4-1 deficit. The 23-year-old averaged 5.4 points, 2.8 rebounds, 0.6 assists and 0.4 steals across 19.2 minutes in five NBA Finals games. Green's four three-pointers were his most since Feb. 5, and with the 23-year-old under contract with the Mavericks until 2026, he will look to possibly take on a larger role with the team next season as the Mavericks attempt to make it back to the Finals.
