Cavaliers' Isaac Okoro: Makes starting five Thursday
Okoro is in the starting lineup for Thursday's preseason game against the Pacers.
Okoro will start at small forward since the Cavaliers are resting several regulars, including Max Strus, who's dealing with a minor hip injury. It seems the battle between Strus and Okoro to see who opens the season as the starting small forward is the only positional battle to watch in the Cavaliers' camp. Okoro signed a three-year, $38 million contract in September to stay in Cleveland.

Cavaliers' Isaac Okoro: Staying in Cleveland
The Cavaliers re-signed Okoro to a three-year, $38 million contract Saturday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
Okoro was a restricted free agent but is now set to stay in Cleveland for at least three more years. In 2023-24, he averaged 9.4 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 27.3 minutes across 69 regular-season appearances, including 42 starts. Next season, he should continue to battle for a starting job with Max Strus.

Cavaliers' Isaac Okoro: Starting Sunday
Okoro will start at shooting guard in Sunday's matchup with the Hornets, Serena Winters of Bally Sports Cleveland reports.
With Donovan Mitchell (knee), Darius Garland (back), Caris LeVert (knee) and Sam Merrill (neck) all sidelined, Cleveland will be thin at depth in its regular-season finale. As a result, Okoro will start on the wing alongside Max Strus and figures to see a relatively heavy workload.

Cavaliers' Isaac Okoro: Iffy for Sunday
Okoro (toe) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Clippers.
Okoro has missed four straight games, including the front half of Cleveland's current back-to-back set, due to a right big toe sprain, but he has a chance to suit up Sunday. Donovan Mitchell (rest) is out, so Okoro's potential return would provide Cleveland with much-needed depth against the Clippers.

Cavaliers' Isaac Okoro: Plays 25 minutes in return
Okoro (toe) scored 11 points (4-4 FG, 3-4 FT) and added three rebounds in 25 minutes Sunday in the Cavaliers' 120-118 loss to the Clippers.
Okoro was back in action for Cleveland after missing the previous four games with a sprained right big toe. He began March by starting in 15 straight contests while averaging 32.3 minutes per game during that span, but with Max Strus having recently returned from injury, Okoro has come off the bench in his last two appearances and has logged 15- and 25-minute workloads.
