Lakers' Gabe Vincent: Good to go for training camp
General manager Rob Pelinka said Wednesday that Vincent (knee) is medically cleared to begin training camp, Dave McMenamin of ESPN.com reports.
After carving out a role for himself in Miami, Vincent joined the Lakers last offseason and was expected to be a key rotational piece. However, injuries derailed that plan, as the undrafted guard out of UC Santa Barbara made only 11 regular-season appearances due to a lingering knee issue. While Vincent is healthy again, he'll have to compete for playing time with fellow backups Bronny James, Max Christie and Jalen Hood-Schifino.

Lakers' Gabe Vincent: Unavailable Sunday
Vincent has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Timberwolves due to left knee injury recovery, Jovan Buha of The Athletic reports.
After missing nearly the entire season while recovering from arthroscopic left knee surgery, Vincent has appeared in three of the last four games. He will take a seat for the second half of the Lakers' back-to-back set Sunday but should return to action Tuesday versus Golden State.

Vincent returned to action Sunday and played 14 minutes against the Nets but was held out Tuesday against Toronto for the first leg of a back-to-back set. Vincent will likely see limited minutes Wednesday as the Lakers ramp him up ahead of the playoffs.

Vincent returned to the court Sunday against Brooklyn and tallied two points, a rebound, an assist and a steal in 14 minutes following his lengthy absence. However, since he's missed most of the season, the 27-year-old will likely focus on conditioning over the final few weeks of the regular season in hopes that he's ready for a potential playoff run.

Vincent has appeared in just one game since Oct. 30, missing 46 straight games due to a left knee effusion that ultimately required arthroscopic surgery. The 27-year-old will likely be in store for a modest role off the bench upon returning to action, but his perimeter shooting and ability to initiate offense could eventually help him poach minutes from Spencer Dinwiddie and settle into a heightened sixth-man role.

Lakers' Gabe Vincent: Gets 14 minutes in return
Vincent (knee) recorded two points (1-4 FG, 0-2 3Pt), one rebound, one assist and one steal across 14 minutes Sunday in the Lakers' 116-104 win over the Nets.
Playing for the first time since Dec. 20 and making just his sixth appearance of the season, Vincent settled into a modest role off the bench, filling the rotation spot that had previously belonged to either Max Christie (three minutes) or Cam Reddish (two minutes). Vincent didn't light up the box score and is unlikely to gain fantasy relevance over the final two weeks of the regular season unless the Lakers opt to hold out players such as LeBron James, D'Angelo Russell and Austin Reaves for rest or minor injuries. Vincent could, however, see a slight uptick in minutes if the Lakers feel he's a better fit on the second unit than Spencer Dinwiddie.
