  • Bucks' Joe Ingles: January return realistic, per GM

Bucks general manager Jon Horst said Sunday that Ingles (knee) will realistically return sometime in January, Eric Nehm of The Athletic reports.

Ingles signed with the Bucks in June after sitting out the remainder of last year following ACL surgery in February. When available, he figures to be a key depth piece that can provide elite shooting off the bench. Milwaukee is expected to compete for another championship, so they'll likely have no reason to rush the veteran forward back until the postseason draws near.

  • Bucks' Joe Ingles: Headed to Milwaukee

Ingles (knee) and the Bucks agreed to terms Thursday on a one-year, $6.5 million contract, Mike Scotto of HoopsHype reports.

Ingles technically finished last season in Portland, though he never played for the Blazers after tearing his ACL in early February while he was still a member of the Jazz. An unrestricted free agent this summer, Ingles will join the Bucks via the taxpayer midlevel exception -- an impressive get for a soon-to-be-35-year-old who will likely miss a decent chunk of the 2022-23 campaign. Ingles underwent surgery to repair the torn ACL in late February, but at this point he's without any sort of firm timetable. Once he returns, Ingles figures to fill a key depth role as a shooter and ball-handler off the bench for coach Mike Budenholzer.

  • Trail Blazers' Joe Ingles: Knee surgery completed

Ingles underwent successful reconstructive ACL surgery on his left knee Wednesday.

Ingles initially hurt his knee Jan. 30 while playing with the Jazz and was diagnosed with the season-ending injury one day later. Utah then traded him to Portland on Feb. 9, with his expiring contract representing most of his appeal to the Trail Blazers. Given the timing of his injury along with the recovery timeline associated with ACL tears, Ingles is likely to miss the majority of the 2022-23 season, if not all of it. Portland will presumably allow Ingles to complete his rehab program on his own before he becomes an unrestricted free agent this summer.
