Heat's Norman Powell: Traded to Miami
The Clippers traded Powell to the Heat on Monday in a three-team deal that sent John Collins (ankle) to Los Angeles, while the Jazz received Kevin Love, Kyle Anderson and a 2027 second-round pick, ESPN's Shams Charania reports.
Powell, who is on an expiring contract worth $20.48 million, had been mentioned in the rumor mill previously, but this still comes out of nowhere. Powell was terrific during the 2024-25 regular season, appearing in 60 games with 21.2 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.2 steals and 2.9 three-pointers. In Miami, he figures to be a key complementary role player on the wings, giving support to Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo as a potential third option on offense.

Clippers' Norman Powell: Offers little resistance in loss
Powell ended Saturday's 120-101 loss to Denver in Game 7 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs with nine points (4-11 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 1-1 FT), two rebounds, two assists and one block in 32 minutes.
Powell saved his worst game for last, offering very little in terms of meaningful production. It was a disappointing end for the Clippers, who fell behind by more than 30 points early in the fourth quarter. Despite the rough night, Powell can hold his head high after putting together the best season of his career, averaging 21.2 points per game while adding 1.2 steals and 2.9 three-pointers.

Clippers' Norman Powell: Gets hot late in Game 4 loss
Powell had 22 points (7-13 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 4-6 FT), four rebounds, one assist and one steal across 36 minutes during Saturday's 101-99 loss to the Nuggets in Game 4 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.
Powell scored at least 20 points for the second straight game, connecting on a couple of late threes as part of a final-quarter surge by the Clippers. Despite eventually going down courtesy of an Aaron Gordon put-back dunk, Los Angeles will feel as though they have some momentum heading into Game 5 on Tuesday.

Clippers' Norman Powell: Efficient in victory
Powell had 20 points (7-12 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 3-3 FT), one rebound, three assists and one steal across 29 minutes during Thursday's 117-83 win over the Nuggets in Game 3 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.
After struggling in the first two games of the series, Powell bounced back in Game 3 with his first 20-point outing of the playoffs. Across Powell's first three playoff outings against Denver, he is averaging 15.0 points, 3.3 assists, 1.7 steals and 1.3 rebounds in 33.0 minutes.

Clippers' Norman Powell: Comes through in clutch
Powell contributed 13 points (5-14 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 1-2 FT), three assists and three steals in 33 minutes during Monday's 105-102 victory over Denver in Game 2 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.
Powell didn't have his typical offensive production Monday but made up for it by hitting the go-ahead three in the fourth quarter to help propel the Clippers to a win on the road and even the series at one game apiece. The veteran guard is having arguably the best year of his career, coming off an impressive regular-season showing, averaging a career-high 21.8 points per game to go along with 3.2 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.2 steals.

Clippers' Norman Powell: Struggles in loss
Powell recorded 12 points (5-12 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 0-1 FT), three rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal over 37 minutes during Saturday's 112-110 overtime loss to Denver in Game 1 of their Western Conference quarterfinal-round series.
Powell struggled to make an impact in the Game 1 loss, as he couldn't get going offensively. The veteran small forward is coming off what may have been the best regular season of his career, averaging a career-high 21.8 points per game. Unfortunately, he won't be helping the Clippers much in the postseason if he continues to underwhelm on the offensive end of the floor, as 12 points won't cut it in a series against a high-powered Denver attack.

Clippers' Norman Powell: Iffy to face Sacramento
Powell (shoulder) is questionable for Friday's game against the Kings, Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints.com reports.
Powell is in danger of missing his second consecutive contest due to a right shoulder injury. If the veteran swingman remains sidelined against Sacramento, Bogdan Bogdanovic and Kris Dunn are candidates for an uptick in playing time.

Clippers' Norman Powell: Ruled out Wednesday
Powell (shoulder) is out for Wednesday's game against the Rockets, independent NBA writer Justin Russo reports.
Powell was initially listed as questionable due to right shoulder soreness, and the Clippers will be cautious with one of their top offensive weapons. Derrick Jones will take his place in the starting lineup, according to Law Murray of The Athletic, and Bogdan Bogdanovic is also expected to experience an uptick in his playing time with Powell out. It's uncertain if the 10-year veteran will return to face the Kings on Friday, but head coach Tyronn Lue said Powell "will be alright after tonight [Wednesday]," according to Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints.com.

Clippers' Norman Powell: Questionable for Wednesday
Powell is questionable for Wednesday's game versus Houston due to right shoulder soreness, independent NBA writer Justin Russo reports.
After logging 41 minutes against the Spurs on Tuesday with 25 points (9-19 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 4-6 FT), five rebounds and three assists. Powell could be held out for some maintenance on the second leg of this back-to-back set. Kawhi Leonard, however, will be returning from his maintenance day to face the Rockets.

Clippers' Norman Powell: Logs team-high 25 points
Powell registered 25 points (9-19 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 4-6 FT), five rebounds and three assists in 41 minutes during Tuesday's 122-117 win over the Spurs.
Powell's numbers have almost always come through when Kawhi Leonard (rest) takes a seat, and that was the case during Wednesday's critical win. Powell's totals have been impacted marginally with Leonard's increased activity. However, he still has a solid place in the Clippers' starting lineup and can amass great totals when the game flows in his direction.
